  • The worst mobile banking app ever!

    This is definitely the worst mobile banking app I’ve ever seen. I have apps from 9 others financial institutions, 5 of them are much smaller than HSBC, and yet their mobile apps give an excellent experience.
    This app does not even allow to make a payment. You have to use the website, or send a check, or call them. But you cannot initiate a payment from the app. It also has a lot of useless features. But in addition to not being able to make a payment from the app, this is the slowest app I’ve ever seen. Apps on iPhone 3 run faster. I am extremely disappointed.
    The only purpose that app serves is for you to check your balance and your transactions but that will take you some time because it is slow.
    Closing my account soon.

  • Unbelievably bad! Nothing works. CIO needs to get fired!

    I’ve never come across an app that across the board doesn’t work. The design seems fine but nothing is working. As a new premier customer, I’ve just spent 3 hours trying to register my new account-in vain!...I’ve lost count of all the tries. the buttons simply don’t seem to respond and work. It doesn’t respond and then tells you it has timed out. After countless tries when I thought I had finally set it up, then the Touch ID would take me to a home screen that would freeze. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app which then caused another suite of issues and I can’t get back in although i know my password is correct. The app doesn’t respond, etc.

    Absolutely nothing is working-the list of facts to share is countless. It’s truly beyond belief. I’m technology savvy. This app does not even deserve 1 star. Completely useless! I don’t understand how a reputable bank like HSBC is tolerating such a bad app from their IT dept...

  • HSBC US App is AWESOME

    This is the awesome banking App I have ever used, very fast and updates to the second, I did a wire transfer and within 12 seconds it showed using the HSBC App, great job and will be a customer for life, this is by far the Greatest Bank I have had over the last 40 years, they have some great people that care about you and will help with any issues you have within minutes, Thank You HSBC

  • Terrible app. Will probably cancel because of it.

    Most important thing you need to know about this credit card/app: You cannot pay your credit card balance in the app! This app does not do the one and only thing a credit card app needs to do...and that is let you pay your balance on it. It’s just stupid and makes you wonder what this credit card company is thinking. I also had to wait on hold and talk to 2 customer service reps for them to tell me that I can’t pay through the app. I’m frustrated, annoyed and ready to cancel this card for a better one with an app that wasn’t developed by Neanderthals. Trust me and just Go somewhere else and save your time and frustrations. Just stupid!

  • possibly the worst app I have ever used

    this is quite possibly the worst banking app I have ever come across. the app constantly freezes, lags horrible and simply doesn't work. selectable options via the mobile app are either broken or just non-existent. for a financial institution to have this poorly crafted app is a little unnerving, worth 15 billion but can't have a simply easy and smooth app to use in 2019? makes you wonder what other kind task and requirements are being executed at half measure. fix or update asap, zero stars especially when you have free apps and games that are plagued with ads that run smoother

  • There is no banking app as bad as this

    This app is worse than any banking app, even those smaller Microfinance bank apps.
    It’s like a computer website which has been slapped into an app without being made compatible for a phone at all.
    To log in you need to enter your 20 million letter password (which is required), and once you get in, if it hasn’t crashed a few times already- then you’ll need to wait about 30 seconds for each page to load when you click any options.
    Good luck getting anywhere with this app- HSBC I hope this motivates you to put some funding into developing a better app.
    You’d probably not need to update the app for bug fixes and ‘minor improvements’ every time I go to log in if you just put a bit more work into this too.

  • One star is one too many

    The app doesn’t work. We enter all the security info and when we click the log on button, it flashes and then nothing happens. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling. We’re tech savvy enough (one of us works in tech.) We should have checked the app ratings before opening this account. This is by far the worst banking app. The interest you earn is no where near worth the time and effort you have to put in to get it to work, if you even get that far. You have to get past several security questions and verification steps, which would make me feel safe, but the app not working and its clunkiness leave me with little faith in the actual level of security. It feels like a lot of fluff. The website is also too much trouble. We were not able to add a spouse to the account via the website like all of our other banks. Looking into other options. I’ve never left a review in the app store, but this was so bad I felt it was necessary to let HSBC know before we close our newly opened savings account

  • Unhappy banker

    I agree with other users the app is slow and the UI feels like I’ve gone back in time.
    Form fields require the app to refresh the page, there are limited navigation buttons and the text is small and difficult to read.
    I felt compelled to say that since I mostly use a Pocketbook interface to avoid the app I was shocked to learn HSBC has now forced these apps to use two factor authentication without any notice which has left Pocketbook unable to connect. This company acts like a monopoly because they have many corporate clients but it won’t take long before even loyal customers get frustrated. Shame on you HSBC!

  • Worst banking app I’ve ever had to use

    Terrible to use. Download updates while running, which I didn’t know was allowed on the App Store. Bugs regularly found, like no bank accounts available to deposit a check on, or check photos won’t upload with no error message. The transaction log doesn’t show the name of the store unless you tab on it, which makes it difficult to use. The transactions take 24+ hours before showing up. “Linked accounts” shows my only account but with a different balance than the “Balances” tab. And I haven’t even looked into anything else than the basic features one would use this app for. Give me a simple, readable, useful and up-to-date transaction log, and let me deposit checks reliably.
