  • Worst Customer Experience

    I’ve recently swapped over to HSBC for both my home loans due to low interest rate and the app never works when wanting to check balances or review status. It’s slow and constantly doesn’t load. even at once stage, it showed a future transaction that hadn’t occurred yet.
    This does not make me want to bring all my finances across and will keep my money and cards with my original bank institution as this app would drive me insane and want to swap banks again if I did bring all my business across.
    It’s almost like the app is trying to do everything and probably needs a complete redesign.

  • Worst app ever

    I never write reviews about apps. This one is so bad, I feel I have to. This is by far the WORST financial app EVER. For starters, the layout looks like it was developed for a school project - it is so poorly designed. It looks and feels sloppy. A few people have said this but I'll repeat- it just looks and feels like something from the early 2000's- I half expect to hear the old aol dial tone when opening this poor excuse for an app.

    What is most horrible, there doesn't seem to be a way to actually make a payment. If there is, the steps to get there are beyond me.

    Online is no different. It makes me wonder-- is this designed so poorly on purpose, in the hopes to have people miss payments? Lol. The developers should be fired.

  • Horrible app don’t bother DL-ing

    🤔 Makes no sense having this app on the store since you can’t even do anything with this app. I have to use the dang website just to make a payment. Discovers app is way easier and very simple to check everything, make payments and even contact customer service. And no I’m not someone paid off by discover or competing against but HSBC should take notes from them. Very disappointed with this app and how much of a hassle it is to have to use the web browser to do anything. The card benefit is awesome but the app is really bringing everything else down. 🤷🏽‍♂️

  • Worst banking app I have ever used

    I have used banking apps from ANZ, NAB, CITI and Westpac and by far this is the worst banking app I have used. Extremely slow to load and often fails to load or prompts me for an update after taking forever to load. The updates can sometimes take several minutes to complete which is frustrating when I just want to check my balance quickly. Even from the home screen to the log in screen to the accounts screen, there is a significant amount of lag each time I want to open a different screen. This app makes me question why I bother with it in the first place.

  • Terrible user experience!

    This is by far the worst consumer banking app I have ever used. Set up itself is so painful... I have no issues with the need for proper authentication but the HSBC app is just not user-friendly at all. The screen to screen transitions are so clunky. So often the “cannot contact HSBC server” messages show up on very stable Wifi connection.

    Apart from this, the built-in limits on “deposits” (yes, deposits - not withdrawals or transfers!) are so impractical. Cannot deposit a check with more than $5000 amount! What am I expected to do? Tear a check in pieces and deposit portions of it? If the bank takes time to get the check cleared and the make the funds available (understandably), then why not allow the deposits? The ultimate killer is the monthly limit on deposits via app! Cannot deposit checks totaling more than $10k in a month! Why??? This in an era when banks are trying to become internet banks and want more and more transactions to be online and via customer self-serve modes, HSBC doesn’t seem to be getting it.

    NO OTHER SITE FRUSTRATES ME MORE.

    I’VE BEEN ON THEIR SITE FOR 90 MINUTES AND STILL CANNOT LOG IN. THERE ARE NO WORDS.
  • Problems with their website and app

    I just updated the app needed "Digital Security Device" to wire transfer otherwise I would never tried any product from this bank,
    Once I hit the "Log on" button it says "Invalid Guid" error.
    That's what happens when some inefficient engineers at work and block anyone else with better knowledge comes aboard

  • Astoundingly poor quality

    For many years now, this app has probably been the worst possible banking application in the App Store. It is horrendously slow, and full of bugs. It has gotten to the point where it no longer even works for me to deposit a check using it. It has been so bad, that I actually have considered shutting down my entire bank account and moving to another bank that has a proper mobile application. I see my friends doing all kinds of easy simple fast things with their mobile banking apps, and I am very jealous of them for that!

  • Worst Banking App

    I never wrote any review for any app. But this app’s user-unfriendliness is beyond words. I was trying to set up email transfer on Hsbc phone app, which the app sent me to the website, then the website asked me to log on to the app to generate a code, the code is no where to be found in the app. It’s only after the 3rd attempt I realized the “generate code” button only appears in the bottom left corner BEFORE you log on to the app. Yep. So when the app prompt you to log on, you have to cancel this window for the “generate code” button to reveal itself. I personally think it’s retarded. I kept having to log on and off on the website and phone app to trying to set up EMT which never happened to me before on any other banking app that I use. So when I had the code and tried to use it on the website, the website didn't accept it. I tried two more times with two different codes generated, but still did not work. I eventually had to fire up my laptop to get this done in conjunction with hsbc phone app. I believe there is a bug if you tried to set up the EMT on the phone without a laptop. Sadly this is the app Hsbc spent so much money on to revamp. I do not enjoy the experience at all. I WOULD GIVE IT A ZERO IF I CAN. ZERO.

  • Hard to find Mexico HSBC

    Can not locate the Mexico HSBC app. Mexico isn’t even on the list of countries that a person can click to be directed to an app.
