  • Horrible user experience

    This app constantly makes me want to throw my phone across the room in frustration. Often doesn’t work, will not load the login in page or will not log in once I’ve put in the password. These glitches never improve with new updates and the whole experience is always so slow and unreliable. When travelling this app made me want to swap banks completely because it almost never worked even just to check my balance while I was out, which was stressful and time consuming especially when trying to quickly check the balance before doing large transactions. I’ve never rated an app before but I hate this one with such a passion I was inspired. Honestly HSBC I know you could do better.

    I can’t even begin to explain how horrible the overall design of this app is. Whoever developed it needs to get fired ASAP. Save yourself a headache or 2 and stay away from any HSBC product. You will regret ever banking with them just because of the hassle you have to go through to even submit a payment. This app is absolutely USELESS. I accepted a Preapproval offer for one of their credit cards and after registering the account for online access now I understand the poor feedback. It is AWFUL. Consider yourselves warned...

  • Awful App and Bank

    I used the HSBC mobile app for the past year as part of its promotion to get bonuses in setting up new checking, savings, and CD accounts. I am fairly tech savvy and was able to navigate the cumbersome account and app set up, but the problems I am outlining here made me recently cancel both the app and my HSBC accounts.

    Setting up the app and my accounts was unusually difficult. There were far too many steps, delays, and odd rules that made me waste many hours online and on the phone. The app is very slow, and cuts you off so quickly you cannot even send messages on it for help. It is often down completely, and is “clunky” to operate, even when using the latest operating systems, iPhones, and super fast WiFi.

    I had no problems working with the staff and management of my local HSBC branch, but the company’s online services and phone-based help are almost useless.

    HSBC’s corporate executives and staff based in Buffalo, New York, and its global executives based in London, seem to be not just incompetent, but also scandalous. The company has been found guilty of numerous fraud, money laundering, and other charges, and seems to be engaged in endless litigation. A quick web or wiki search about HSBC is all that is needed.

  • This app totally sucks and the people who created it are evil

    Crap from day one and fixed again with more crap. You do not understand on line banking at all.
  • Poor app and customer support

    Lousy app - can’t even get things done on it. Does not provide basic features required of a credit card app. Does not maintain persistence with logging in, you always get logged out whenever you switch out of the app. The app aesthetic looks like it is made in 2010. HSBC app as a whole is irritating - my automatic payment doesn’t get scheduled even though I set it up. They made me pay a late fee, and I tried to call them but there’s no phone support even though I waited on the line for 45 mins. Don’t even consider signing a card with hsbc, or even download the app! I cut up my card after two months of using it. Shame on you hsbc

  • Pretty bad

    IS THERE NO WHERE IN THE APP TO MAKE A PAYMENT??? It’s like they haven’t improved the app since apps became a thing. And I can’t add a bank account to pay from the app, I have to log onto a computer to set that up. An app should be all encompassing, including adding a frickin bank account so I can pay my balance. Then when you log into the app, it’s either EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to find where to go to make a payment, or it doesn’t exist on the app. Either way, I haven’t been able to find it. I got this card for the 0% APR on balance transfers... ok great. Got my card and they only gave me a $750 limit....... what am I supposed to do with that????? I used this card once, and never again.... I’ll leave the account open and just not use it. Thanks for nothing HSBC.

  • Needs total overhaul update

    I really think HSBC Australia needs a better fresh new app update as the current one is very outdated compared to big four banks in Australia apps. Although HSBC have many in app updates through out the year none of them seem to fix sluggish issues and bugs as well as providing nothing new. The transaction history is so slow and not quick at all it takes a few days for it to show up in transactions and compared to the very good HSBC HK and UK app is very poor and doesn’t look good considering HSBC is one of biggest banks in world not yet Australian customers are stuck with a very primitive banking app which gives us a very poor mobile banking experience.

  • Application frustration

    First i only use this bank / application for a credit card, so i cannot speak on all of the functionality of the banking side, but the credit side is poor. You cannot pay this card off through the app, you have to go to a computer or load the “full website”to do that. The app takes a long time to load, and even longer to load balances. It does require a different password from the main site, meaning you have to remember both.
