    I too was cut off during a phone call while trying to get help with a new SIM card and my service was cut off too, for hours. I had to go to a place with wi-fi and text chat with another customer service agent to get my lines restored. I had told the agent that I didn’t want to install the new SIM cards until a few days later, but just then the call ended and so did my service. I was forced to install the sims but couldn’t communicate with my young son at school to let him know when I would pick him up.

  • Five star plus (A&B)

    Outstanding service. I am a long time Cellular One user just moved to Fl from upstate NY.
    C1 was my first choice to get a phone for wife to add to my service.
    Rates were best and the outstanding in person attention and service by Mgr Andrew and staff made it easy.
    Then my own IPhone died so I came back and Andrew and staff went above and beyond (A&B) to synch everything with my IPad and Laptop.
    I will be back and am thrilled to find another business that still gives the old fashioned A&B service.

  • Service used to be top notch! Not so anymore.

    Consumer Cellular was great when I first signed up several years ago. I was on the T-Mobile network and had 3-4 bars almost 24/7. Then a month ago Consumer Cellular told me I had to update my eSIM or I would lose all phone service. I initially had trouble getting the eSIM update to work but with customer service help I was successful. I noticed immediately that I got 0-2 bars and was put onto the AT&T network and removed from T-Mobile. When at work I am in SOS mode most of the day which helps drain my battery. I went from recommending everyone I know to go to Consumer Cellular to telling everyone I know to stay away and go somewhere else. Depending on what Boost Mobile or Cricket have I may need to switch. As long as I’m not on the crappy AT&T network since their service of awful in my area.

  • Get a New Sim Card

    A few weeks ago, I was told by Consumer Cellular to update my SIM card, or they would deactivate my phone since the SIM card was two years old and “outdated”! I get the SIM card and follow the instructions to change it… then have the worst experience trying to “chat (text) with a representative” trying to activate the SIM card! She actually disconnected my chat, and blocked me from using it again! Tried 5 times to call the number they have to activate it, only to find out, you can’t call them until it’s activated! Finally found a way to activate it without having to deal with their customer service! Because I tried before work, I had no phone for 2 1/2 hours until I was able to complete the process! Next time I know what to do, to avoid the rude customer service!!

  • Becoming disenchanted

    We’ve been customers for several years and we’re more than happy with CC. A couple of months ago we were encouraged to install new SIMs which we did and our signal strength went instantly from four bars to two- I’ve not seen MORE than two. Phone calls became intermittent and battery usage increased substantially, probably because I had to enable WiFi calling. Now the app has shown the same 156MB of data usage for most of this month which is not useful! What happened? These are dramatic changes and for the worse!

  • New Face ID feature does not work

    Please fix your new Face ID feature. It doesn’t work. I have the feature activated in settings but it constantly asks for my password every time I open the app. What’s the point of having the Face ID feature if you keep having to sign in with a password?! Either fix it or have the app just remember my password so I don’t have to type it in every time I open the app.

    Update: I’m deleting this app. It’s more annoying than helpful since their last update and the Face ID/login fiasco. Weeks have gone by and it’s still not fixed. Not quite the customer service heroes they claim to be I guess.

  • Service is great, app doesn’t work… still.

    Unable to login despite having correct credentials, as many others have stated. Customer support has no idea how to help because they are in the dark (but they are great at service-related stuff). Where is the response from Consumer Cellular? This app has been broken for months - since the “update” came out.

    Update June 2023, version 5.0.3 adds Face ID but doesn’t solve the actual log in errors. Have to uninstall and reinstall just to be able to maybe log in.

  • FRAUDULENT SERVICE internet turns OFF at 50GB not throttles

    I have the unlimited data plan. Unlike every other carrier, this carrier advertises that they will throttle speed to 2-3 BMPS after the 50GB high-speed limit, allowing for schoolwork, email, etc. That is FALSE.

    In fact, separately from the terms you sign as a consumer, the company imposes a FULL INTERNET SHUT OFF, sometime after the 50GB usage, er go, not an unlimited plan.

    I run my blink cameras, schooling, and pet charity at home. I woke up to a text from my trusty cell phone company telling me that we no longer have any internet, but I can still make phone calls, and that it's for MY PROTECTION.

    They throttled according to the T&C for 4 months and then just decided to scrap the contract terms apparently.

    Fascist:
    1) where are you driving to? Show me your papers.
    2) what are you downloading? Show me your papers.

    Stick to the contract terms ya fascists. Contracts are contracts.

  • Dissatisfied

    The app is simply not of any use. It opens you can ONLY see what you’ve used for data, go to settings and nothing of value there say nothing of not having any settings to anything except if you want to share a mobile hot spot, support is generic non specific questions/answered and very literally no reason whatsoever to have installed on any device. Just use a web browser don’t waste the space or your time. Company is ok and customer service the people themselves are nice. I love the not in my face all the time advertising, annoying texts with promos, and the overall simplicity BUT the company does NOT stand behind the products they offer and they do NOT honor the warranty (I have a useless to me $1000k plus phone that I still diligently pay for every month along with the phone I had to buy since the other was useless and I have to obviously also now pay for)or it’s process so basically as with anything… you get what you pay for. I can use my phone in most places and truthfully so did pay one amount each month if 40 something endless calls and data… I used to love this company now I don’t think they are any better than Walmart. It’s a shame.

  • Superb support

    They just shipped new SIMs that provide additional services. As far as signal level is concerned, all their services are provided by the major carriers. If you have a signal issue it is not caused by Consuler Cellulsr so stop complaining about their service level. The few times I called them to change services they handled it quickly and professionally.
