  • Pretty Good

There are some hick-ups with the app but for the most part it does everything I need it to do. I can download the videos from my dash cam via WiFi, I can see my location on those videos of where I was driving along with speed. I think the app only needs a little walk through process or tutorial option. There were somethings I didn’t understand till I looked it up in the instructions. Other than that the app does what I need it for. Plus this is the only dash cam company that still updates the firmware constantly to improve their product and they keep their app up to date. Some release an app and that’s it. They’re still improving it. Last update was 2 weeks ago. I’m happy with the product, just READ the instructions or call customer service and they’ll be happy to help.

  • Updated! Worse than previous version. Tons of ads!!!

I have been using this app for lone time like 8 months and it was working fine. The app pushed me to update last week and everything went wrong. When I want I see my car live view, it prompts me 10 sec ads and then it started the connection. So it would waste you 30 sec to wait.

When we want to check the camera and that means there may have sth happening and 30 sec is very important. I really hate the Ads and it block me to watch my car.

    4/22:
New firmware still keep disconnecting which is so annoying. Also, camera get hot very quick and it is not usable in summer time. 900 2ch is 500 bucks. I will switch to others if connection issue not fix.

    5/7:
Things got worse. I have got more than 100 notifications about connected and disconnected. I can see there is signal on hotspot and obviously firmware issue.

  • Solution for inconsistent WiFi connection issues...

I resolved my WiFi issue by going into the Blackvue settings and changing the WiFi band from 5 GHz to 2.4 GHz. I did this using my computer via Blackvue Viewer but you can change it using your Blackvue app if you’re able to connect.

After I did that I’ve had no issues connecting to my Blackvue via WiFi/iPhone.

  • Notifications are annoying

The startup notification purchase a monthly package is extremely annoying especially when you already own one and it still notify a you everyday and the only option is to disable for same day. I understand you want to make money but to annoy us on a daily basis even though I’m already paying a premium is extremely annoying 2 stars because it does work but it’s he little things that matter

  • Working Good Agsin

The new version remove the obnoxious advertisements and seems to be working much better again now, and is much more useful without those ads in it. Glad the developer realized that those ads were too obnoxious and not a good thing to do to their customers. As long as they keep the advertisements out of it I recommend the camera, I have the 900S two camera system in my hotshot truck and love it. If they would lower their monthly cloud service fees to a more reasonable rate such as $.99 or $1.99 I would subscribe to it, but $9.99 is just too much to pay when I have cloud services on several other devices and none of them are more than $1.99 a month. I think if they would lower the price of their monthly cloud service to $1.99 a month they would actually find it they would get so many more subscribers that it would actually make up for the lowering in price. My dad wants told me always remember story of the two used car salesman who buy their used cars for the exact same price but one prices his used cars at $1000 each but only sells 3 a week because of his high prices, the other prices his cars at $500 each but sells 20 of them a week because his prices are more fair. At the end of the year which one actually had the most profit and will have much happier customers meaning they’re much more likely to return in the future. Less greed often equals higher profits and more return customers.

  • Straight up garbage!

I’ve been sitting here in my car for hours now trying to setup my VERY expensive BlackVue dash-cam and I’m having trouble connection to it via WiFi. At first I was able to get into it and changed some of the settings but when I go to saving them I get a message saying WiFi signal is too weak and kicks me to the main menu.

I then proceeded to try again and now my dash cam does not appear in my WiFi selections. Very frustrating. You would figure for the amount that this camera costs they would do something to improve the quality of this app. I was planning on buying another camera for my wife’s vehicle but this experience is having me look elsewhere. Very disappointing!

  • Amazing, As good as it gets for dash cams

Finally, removed the ads of products we already owner.

App is pretty good. Easy to navigate videos, update firmware versions and change settings in the camera. I still find it slightly easier to access videos by removing the SD card for latency related issues over WiFi however love the live view features as well as push notifications.

Wish I could give this a 6/5 for how much I love accessing the dash cam through my phone.

  • Ads? I paid 600$ for the cameras!

After paying over $600 NZ for a front and rear camera o do not expect to be directed to watch ads while I review my dash cam videos.

This is an awful idea and the company should be ashamed of adopting this privacy invasive money grab.

    Review for the app:

    - general quality is poor, with badly designed interfaces and buggy, glitchy interactions
    - very slow to download videos from camera to iPhone
    - can be confusing and time consuming to modify settings and configure wifi

I’d give it 3 stars without ads.

  • Cash grab / new ads are ridiculous

If you're going to force me to view ads before seeing the videos stored on my own camera, I'm going to be forced to find a new piece of hardware. It wouldn't be as bad if I could view them via the same network without the ads, but any attempt to browse videos using the "cloud" feature, EVEN IF THE CAM AND YOUR PHONE ARE ON THE SAME WIFI NETWORK, Triggers ads.

My phone can't see the cam's own private network from my house, but I have an AP near the car so it can get online...

Blackvue cam is kind of buggy and crashy at times anyway (even with good SDcard).

  • Return your camera before it’s too late!!!

You are forced to watch ADs now! Something happen to your car? Open the App and before you can even see anything , you are forced to watch a 20 second AD, every time! Paying $500 for your camera is not enough for this greedy company. App crashes a lot (been 3 years now with no resolution) and customer service is a complete joke.

There are many superior dash cams out there that are not only cheaper, but also don’t force you to watch ADs! I removed mine immediately after this nonsense.
