  • Comcerned ppl are saying not good w/ iOS13 ?

this is a big concern and purchase for me considering I just nearly spent $1000can on (2) dashcams + still having to purchase the subscription we had no ides about at time of payment @ [Best Buy[[we all know how honest & commission motivated they are. The slaes rep obviously never brought up subscription until we downloaded [much better looking app].
$20 a month @$240can per year, kinda feels like [Best Buy] finessed us hard . Would really appreciate a developer to reach out and clarify as $1,240 is no joke to spend on your products to not be able to use at all 🤷🏼‍♂️. I have a road trip from Calgary, CANADA -to- Toronto, CANADA for my birthday third week of May... so obviously i don’t need to explain to you how and crucial it is I have these working... wirelessly, icloud, cellphone app, SD card. Most importantly my mom able to wirelessly check the iCloud to be able see that I’m OK driving along nearly 20 Coast to coast Canada. Not to mention a huge seller feature of this dash cam was the TWO-WAY chat to keep im touch with with family and friends while on highway.

Thanks for taking the time to read all that and answer my specific questions & concerned .

  • The app needs to use the LTE network when phone is connected to camera WiFi

I just now started using a 650S-2ch that I purchased months ago and had misplaced all this time. My first use of this app is with version 3.0 just a few days ago. My IPhone 7+ was able to connect to the camera’s Wi-Fi without a problem and once I saw the DHCP-assigned IP address, I changed the Wi-Fi configuration to manual so that there would be no default gateway.

My phone is able use the LTE connection, generally speaking, while it is also connected to the camera’s Wi-Fi. The BlackVue app is not aware of the LTE connection; you cannot successfully select the Cloud option because it is committed to the camera’s Wi-Fi.

When I disconnect from the camera by turning Wi-Fi off, the app remains stuck; I have to restart the app to connect to Cloud.

It bugs me that the app can’t use the LTE connection to provide real-time map info when it is connected to the camera’s Wi-Fi and I’m streaming the live video. The developer is clear that the info is in the recording and I do see this info when I play it back, so they’ve got that going for them.

  • No wifi

Please update this app to work with the latest iOS update.
  • This App is useless at best!

Even the latest revision of the App for iOS13 hasn’t helped with WiFi functionality and the lack of support from Blackvue means it will be a long time if ever before they provide a proper fix.
My issue currently is the cameras do connect to the phone via WiFi (finally) but unfortunately at the expense of Apple CarPlay. Now the Blackvue Direct WiFi connection causes Apple CarPlay to lose connection to Maps and Music. The only fix is to “forget” the Blackvue WiFi which means any time you want to access the camera etc you have to re-enter the WiFi Password which is very non functional. The cameras are great but I regret my purchase because actually using them in the car is a nightmare!

  • Plans are way to expensive and where’s dark mode

Seems like every time I check the app, time for live view on the free plan keeps going down and frankly, pricing on the basic plan is double what it should be for one camera. The app is not great and there should be better options for rotating the cameras in the settings. Your advertising dark mode support now but there doesn’t seem to be any way to turn it on and it’s obviously not defaulting to system wide dark mode since the app looks identical to the previous version. For what is obviously one of the most if not the most expensive camera’s in their respective classes, this app and the way you try to continue milking your customers after purchase means I won’t be putting these cameras in any more of my vehicles even though I like the camera itself.

  • Worst

I just bought this product and they did hardwiring too
    And can’t work on IOS13
  • Does not connect to iOS 13

Cannot connect since updating to iOS 13
  • Doesn’t work in iOS 13

Spent an hour or so trying to set up my new DC900S-2CH and my phone connected to WiFi fine, but the app wouldn’t recognize the camera.
Did everything in the troubleshooting guide, but nothing would work.
Finally grabbed an old iPad with iOS 12.x on it and sure enough it connected and the app worked just fine.
It’s definitely a pain and I’m hopeful you guys will get it fixed soon, but at least there’s a workaround for us.

  • Expected a lot more

This is my third dashcam, and I expected it to be the best of them all, but the software really lets it down. Here are the issues:
    - Cannot have always-on WiFi. Blackvue cameras act as a router instead of an ad-hoc network and you have to disable/enable WiFi every time, otherwise your phone won’t have internet. My cheapo WiFi camera from DDPai didn’t have this issue.
    - No search/scrubbing. All clips are saved in 2-minute lengths. If you want to find a moment or compile an event, you have to search through a bunch of tiny clips manually.
    - iOS 13 incompatible. You can no longer even connect to the camera with iOS 13.
