  • Kitchen refrigerator

    App. Is great but it could contain / or have the capability to do more. When my compressor failed it never issued me a warning that the boxes were not cold. It only shows a temperature if your on app. It should be able to advise you that unit is operating at peak efficiency. It should also let you know how much life is left on water filter and air filters. Door open features are great but could narrow it down to freezer door open or refrigerator door open.

  • Works well

    Very handy, works well with my clothes washer. I can definitely see it working very well with people with multiple appliances, a smart hub for the house.

    My only critique is it can drop the WiFi connection easily. This could be on the app’s part, the washer’s part, or the network router’s part, so I don’t subtract a lot for that. Set up and daily usage are very easy and intuitive. I would be curious about other appliances that work with this app.

    The smart frog is nice. After almost a year of having it, I’m just now using the smart features. Had trouble with the first order of frig with the size and then the delivery company rescheduled 4 different times. I had to take off work twice with a no show on delivery. Promised us a gift card still haven’t received it. KENMORE products are really worth the money.

  • Dumbest ‘smart’ fridge and app

    We bought a Kenmore Elite with the smart feature only to discover it won’t notify us if there is an issue and the temperature goes outside the limit of the settings. So what if I can change the prescribed temperature from my phone. How often does one need or want to do that!?! What is far more valuable is to be notified if the compressor breaks or the power goes out and food isn’t kept at temperature.

    We learned the hard way when our 2yr old unit stopped working. And now we have to wait nearly three weeks for repair even though we paid extra for the ‘protection’

    It might be shiny on the outside but there’s nothing ‘elite’ about these fridges. Next time we’ll be looking harder at LG or others.

  • Works well for remote start

    We, a household of 7, really enjoy that the washing machine tells us when it’s done. Using it for remote start is fantastic because you can set a time rather than just by the hour.

    Only gripe, a small one at that, is not being able to clear the error notifications once they’ve served their purpose. Looks like they clear after 30 days but it annoys me I can’t make them go away.

  • Not very smart app

    I have ran my dryer twice today and the app won’t update from the previous day, and miss a couple cycles from yesterday as well!!!
    On top of the app not working out brand new dryer isn’t working correctly, keeps saying the vent is clogged, so we bought a new house and ran a few cycles to clear it , per the manuals instructions, and still it says the vent has issues!!! Best part of all the company we got it from won’t touch vent issues or potential vent issues!!! These “smart” apps and devices are crap and full of flaws, I strongly recommend anyone to wait a few years before investing in any “smart” device !!!!

  • Larger type style

    I love comparing the temp of the room vs outside temp. However, the type style is so tiny I can barely read it! The page has plenty of room for larger, legible type. Why so much empty blue space? May I suggest a nice BOLD 10-12 pt Helvetica ? The other features are great, like controlling my A.C. from my phone even when I’m miles away! I would give a five star rating if I the type style was more legible. Thanks for your consideration.

  • Wish the app did more

    Wish the app could control settings on the dryer. It only notifies when the cycle is complete—a lot more money for a feature that is very limited. Also, there is one bug that needs to be fixed. At the completion of each drying cycle, the app sends 3 notifications (one right after the other) instead of just 1 to notify me the cycle has ended.

  • Kenmore Stupid

    I tried this app with my new Kenmore Elite refrigerator. The app is poorly designed, does not work properly, and wouldn't be very useful if it did.

    It was very tedious to create and configure my account. There are many layers of security. So many, that I suspect the app isn't very secure (like a cheap door with 15 deadbolts). I had to wait hours for the confirm email. After finally getting things connected, the fridge won't stay online longer than a few minutes.
    The primarly function of the app seems to be automatically selling you over-priced filters. I'm pretty sure this feature is the only one that works.
    Biggest gripe? You can't see what the actual fridge/freezer temps are! The app should show current and historical temps and notify you if the current temps go out of range. Duh!
    I almost never change temp settings manually. Why would I need to do it remotely? If your account was compromised, think of the havoc a hacker (or ex-spouse) could wreak.
    Energy usage history would be useful if it worked. The numbers are way too erratic to be accurate.
    Who cares how many times the door was opened over the last day or week? I care if the door has been open longer than a few mins.
    The app offers features that my fridge doesn't have (ex. Accela Ice)
    Access to the user manual is nice. The FAQs aren't very useful.
    In summary, a complete waste of time for my refrigerator. It may work better for other appliances.

    This is the second time I purchased this air conditioner I purchased 2 of them almost 18 years ago. This replaced the one that went out after almost 18 years and the other one is still going strong. I believe the one that went bad would have lasted me another 5 years had I done a few things differently.
