  • Great app

Lots of negative reviews, but this app is awesome for my water softener. It alerts me with continuous water flow and when I’m low on salt. I can change the hardness level from my phone as well. I went on vacation and a family member was watching my pets. They flushed the toilet and the flapper got stuck. It alerted me after 20 minutes and saved me major problems.

  • Works well except

For some reason it has to reset which means getting a step ladder climb up the ladder open the front and take a picture of the model # which for many people might be easy and fine but some people have a hard time doing the climbing the opening and the picture”ing” so if there was an easier way to do it, it would make some people very happy if they find all that maneuvering difficult

  • Works well

We bought a new Kenmore Elite washer and dryer and noticed it came with the smart connect. I didn’t think it’d be very useful for a W/D, but it’s actually come in handy because of the cycle completion alerts. I also like the usage history data so we can try and be more efficient. The app has worked fine on my iPhone 11 Pro Max...no issues.

  • Needs one change on ac control

I love this app except one thing. If you are going to have an option to schedule what time your ac turns on, you need to be able to schedule when it turns off! What good is a 7 day schedule if you turn it on the first day and it never shuts off? People who are gone a lot and need that functionality are not getting their money’s worth out of a “smart” ac. I am a truck driver and use this when it gets really hot out but have forgotten to log back in to shut it off aiding me to have really high utility bills! Fix this and you would have 5 stars from me!

  • Kenmore or less

This app is ok, but that’s all. Sometimes it forgets one of the appliances, or it gives old info from days gone by, instead of telling you that there are 14 minutes left on the wash cycle. Other times it seems to get the timing correct. Just not consistently, so generally you still have to go to the machine and check on the load.

Suggestions, other than accuracy? How about notifications saying when wash or drying is complete? Or one for when the load becomes unbalanced and the machine stops until you come to it’s rescue.

  • What exactly does the app do? Version updates?

I just uploaded the app. The Version is 1.0.08.? It is not updating to V2.2.1. I may have been mislead in purchasing this fridge. I was under the guidance that I would receive alerts if the temp goes out of normal ranges. Besides allowing to set temps, ice, see when door is open, energy used, etc, what exactly will this app do for my Smart Fridge? At the very least, can I use the app to see what my current temperature is? Not necessarily the settings but the actual current temp indide the fridge. Also..Ex: The settings can be at 37F but the actual inside temp is 40F. Will I be notified of this? Will the update to V2.2.1 fix this? My iPhone 11 OS 13.4.1 is not even bringing up the update option.

  • Working Well (again) “UPDATE”

I upgraded my two star review to five stars, because the app, once it is setup— and working appropriately— is simple to use and works well. The NEW app is even better. The Sears ACs we bought— purchase based upon the ability to set a schedule via the app— work great; quiet, efficient, simple controls (thank you, engineers in China).

OK, back to the app. It requires an account. The app and the AC unit can ONLY be setup to run and works only on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks— not 5GHz Wi-Fi (many Wi-Fi routers can run both). Once set up, the app works via 5GHz and 4G LTE, but the AC unit itself must be on 2.4 GHz WiFi.

Other than simplicity, the original app was problematic; buggy. The new app is much better. Over 5GHz or 2.4GHz WiFi, or 4G LTE, the app gives device status, and can be turned on or off remotely. On the AC, the app can raise and lower temperatures, change status from Cool to Eco, for example, change fan speeds, and, again turn on and off— remotely.

The Scheduler was broken and did not work at all, but over the course of a few weeks, Ajay in support tracked down the problem and got it fixed. Twice. Scheduler works. I can change settings according to date and time and it works as expected, so review updated accordingly.

Ajay in support was persistent— a good trait— so it pays not to give up too quickly. Ajay would make a good Sears CEO. Sears still has issues.

I recommend that you download the new app and start over. Much improved.

Hi, thanks so much for the review! We hope you are enjoying the new Kenmore app!
  • Efficient and cool

I have the room air conditioner. The smart app is pretty cool you can turn your appliance on or off from miles away I’m talking like towns away. It also lets you move the temperature up or down and set what days of the week and times you would like it to turn on. It is seamless and efficient and very handy. The air conditioner unit is a little noisier inside then it seems to be outside, but it cools the room down pretty good. Over all I’m very happy with this product.

  • So far, so GREAT

My landlord and I researched a window unit that would be strong enough for a second floor, one bedroom apartment in Los Angeles and this unit has been so excellent—especially in regard to the bluetooth capability. I can easily check the room temperature when I’m at work during the summer to make sure that my cat is comfortable while I’m away. I can also easily switch the unit on/ off from the living room which makes temperature control for movie nights and dinner parties super convenient.

  • HUGE FAIL! Bugs & NO tech support

You pay extra for appliances with the Connect Smart feature, but there are MAJOR issues with the software, & NO tech support dept with Sears. After almost 20 attempts, we were completely unable to sync to the “updated” Kenmore App to our iPhone 8 or iPhone 10. There are obvious software bugs that won’t allow the phone and the appliance to communicate correctly even with an established wifi signal link between the two. Although there is a customer support number, don’t be fooled. It’s Sears- back from 1952- ready to sell you an extended service warranty, except, there’s no one who can actually fix software. So what does Sears do? The next best thing, of course. Blame LG (Kenmore Elite’s manufacturer) for the failed software. Just get your (beeeeeep) together and fix the App!!!!
