Food is great. App UI is frustrating
Just a horrible user interface for ordering. When you click to start an order it shoots you to your previous order history rather than to the menu. Once you are on the menu it is next to impossible to see what offers are available. You have to go all the way back to where you see your order history, and chose a location to order from all over again. Half the items back calorie information. Just a horrible user experience, which is sad because I do enjoy the food.

Works; but needs to be improved
The app works ok for ordering most things, allows for food customization, and for choosing from several pickup/delivery options. Guessing it has a good internal user interface because when ordering through the app Del Taco has never made a mistake (unlike their main taco competitor). Giving it only three stars for a couple of reasons - 1)The app will not allow for ordering some food items, like the dozen tamales (when available, and limits one to only smaller portions). 2)Unable to use ApplePay - not sure what makes Del Taco think that I’d rather allow them to store my credit card or type it in every time over being able to use ApplePay. The second item is more of an issue for me, so if they at least fix that I’d give them 5-stars.

I’m Disappointed
I have tried ordering through the app and decided to pick up by drive thru because you know COVID and I’m lazy. I ordered 3 different times and every time was horrible!
The firs time I waited 45 more from the time I placed my order to the time I actually got my order, because they couldn’t “find my order”. I don’t remember the reasoning for the second time but I had to just cancel my order and order at the Intercom when I got to the location. The third and last time I ordered a good 30 minutes before I actually picked it up. They said the order was canceled, but the money still was taken out of my account. It was only $7 but still. I am just annoyed. It’s easier to just go through the drive thru and order like we use to. No more of this useless app.

Worst app ever
This is not an app it is an advertising gimmick. I tried deleting it and downloading it several times but it still doesn’t work. Here’s how the gimmick works. They send you an offer that requires you to go to their app to redeem and the app freezes with some crap about “you will be notified about offers.....” I stood in line the other day and order a tostada only to have the app freeze up. Told them them to forget the whole thing and walked out. I had a great tostada at Taco Bell. I suggest you do the same thing. I can’t believe I’m the only one. If they send me one more offer that doesn’t work, I’m unsubscribing. I suggest you do the same thing. Hasta la vista, Miguel

Delivery tracking terrible
Placed an order at 11:15 pm, with a scheduled delivery of 11:45. At midnight I called store and they explained they were very busy and no one had picked up the order yet. Starving, I asked the mgr if I could come pick it up myself. No problem, drove to store to find 15 cars in line. Bc the food was already paid for, I waited. And waited. And waited until an hour and a half later. I got home at 2 am to find my order had been delivered an hour prior. I was never once contacted about it being on the way or delivered. Just showed completed on the app, but when I called the store it still wasn’t picked up. Poor communication. Don’t know who to blame, del taco or door dash but I’ll never use either again. Couldn’t even get a refund, was told contact door dash. So I did. Door dash chat told me to contact del taco and ended the chat. Horrible customer service.

Change store open/close hours
I understand the inconvenience of the virus situation but I work overnights and been to three different store locations and they've all been closed early. If the stores are going to close early I understand and hope everyone is safe but I'd also expect the courtesy, like ALL OTHER stores are graciously and generously doing, and change the hours on your app and Google (I double checked before I ordered!) too to match the stores. I had to cancel two orders because the app said they were open and still allowed me to order! All other fast food chains I've been through have changed their hours.

Needs improvement
Probably the most glaring omission is nutritional data. The Taco Bell app actually calculates your whole meal as you go including the effect of substituting ingredients. If I say no beans extra cheese it subtracts and adds accordingly. Unfortunately the Del Taco app doesn’t even give you the standard recipe nutrition much less detailed control.
Also, as with many fast food apps, the cashiers seem to have a hard time integrating mobile orders into their flow. There’s the now familiar long confused pause, iconic “can’t find your order”, having to be reminded at the window, and attempt to collect your prepaid order twice. Why is this so hard?
Last, my chicken items had several gristly bites which isn’t a prep issue, it would be systemic to their supply chain so I feel it’s a valid critique of the experience. Overall Taco Bell is doing a much better job although it’s a mile farther from home, I’ll probably stick with them for now when I want US quality “Mexican” food.

Deal with it ! ! Spoiled ones
This app has worked well for me & my family . After reading all the reviews I can’t understand why people get so frustrated & upset ?
What do they expect? ? ? Nobody’s entitled to anything as well as nobody should feel that they’re owed anything???? People always seem to be very opinionated & judgmental putting all their life’s stress into something like this app when in reality the app is simple there to provide you with extra perks & savings that you might want to use ? I LOVE it whenever I’m able to save $ & or get something for free & this is exactly what this app has always provided me. Thank you Del Taco my visits are pleasing & pleasant along with the friendly staff & quick service at my favorite location in Placentia. 👍✌️

Next To Worthless As A Loyalty App
I don’t see the point of this app. I thought it would be like the Starbucks app where you could order plus earn points towards discounts for purchases. But I see no way of scanning in receipts for purchases made at a location or anyway to link purchases to my account. The only way of keeping track is online order purchases which doesn’t make as much sense because they DT drive thru is quick compared to Starbucks so why would I bother.
Anyway I expected this to be a loyalty program app but is only good for online ordering loyalty which isn’t how most people order DT.

App not working
Revision: I heard that phone updates sometimes cause apps to not work properly. I deleted this application then downloaded it again (IPhone 8). The app is now working and I have been able to use my offers again. Thank you!
I have received many offers from this app. I really loved using it until recently. Now, When I click on the app I get a black screen. I drive over 30 minutes to eat at Del Taco and would love to have the great offers this app used to provide. I hope this issue is fixed soon.
