  • Works reasonably, tracks location

As others have said, the weird thing about this app is that it continues to track location after exiting, despite my settings of, “no, don’t do this, not ever!” I’ve grown used to force-quitting very time I use the app, since I’ve noticed battery usage reporting, “eureka used 14% battery via background usage from 2am-3am!” otherwise.

Aside from that, the app has appeared stable and functional in recent releases.

  • Question Option Omission

When asking about wearing a mask in public there isn’t an option for all of the time - just most of the time and this bothers me because many of us wear AlLL of the time when out. Why this error of omission???
  • Too superficial to be helpful

This app continues to be just short of useless. It appears that the 100.4 degree threshold is the test for having Covid19. In June 2020 this narrow view is simply wrong. It does not account for folks who take aggressive action to treat a sudden fever before it gets out of control. Unexplained muscle and joint pains are inadequately considered. Many folks would comment that the degree and nature of muscle aches are the key finding. It does not resemble a backache you might get from a bad golf swing or equivalent motion. This app seems designed to discourage folks infected with Covid19 from getting tested or overwhelming clinical facilities. The values of this app as currently designed is more negative than positive.

  • Huge Data Hog!!

It appears to use cellular data even when connected to hi speed WiFi. It is making large data transfers every 3 hrs it seems and Used up half my 9G of cellular data even though connected to WiFi at home.

Happy with the app, but it should default to WiFi only
  • Tracks your location without permission

I have been participating in the Covid-19 research, enabled by this app, since March. The app works well, but it appears to track my location for a long and indefinite time after leaving the app, even though I have l location sharing set to “only while using.”

Somehow they seem to be evading the “while using” to continue tracking location unless I force-quit the app.

While I understand that there may be some value to Covid researchers in tracking who is going out and who isn’t, this seems like a clear violation of trust. Once you leave the app, tracking should cease just as it does with every other app when “only while using” is selected.

  • Spam

Signed up, now they wont stop texting me.
  • Works

Seems to work fine; nothing fancy, which is okay
  • Battery hog

Checking battery health I find that Eureka has been using 12% of my battery due to background activity, 2-3 times more total than Mail, Google, Safari, Messages etc which i use all day long mostly in foreground. Something is really broken!
  • Hopefully good research

I’ve been using this app for about two months and have had zero problems with it. They notify me on a regular basis to answer basic questions which takes less than a couple minutes maybe four or five days a week.
It’s a good reminder to practice good sanitation and social distancing.
  • No problems with app

Haven’t had any problems with app. Get reminders every day to do daily survey, very helpful. Every time I try to look for other studies, nothing comes up. Not sure if that’s a bug...
