  • Just poor, really, really poor

    I am lost for words. The inexplicably poor experience has festered on for months. Both British airways apps, rewards and travel are absolute garbage. Frustrating doesn’t cover it. Constant freezing, constant error messages and I am never able to achieve my objectives which ironically is to spend money. I have been forced to use easyJet and on their app I have achieved my objectives effortlessly, the app is years ahead of yours - try it! I am so glad that BA have put me through this constant frustration because finally I have seen the light. I have consequently sold all of my IAG stock based solely on my personal experiences of delays, cancellations , poor customer service and apps that simply do not function as they should. So for now at least it’s a goodbye from me.

    Thank you for your review. We are working hard to improve our app and have a recent update out in the stores that has improvements with log in and flight search.
  • Usually works well… until it locks you out…

    And the lockout can occur at the most inconvenient time eg when trying to book travel over a weekend etc

    I know my credentials were correct, but it would simply not work even after a reboot. I suspect it’s something to do with another app (EE) that I reinstalled which for whatever reason decided it did not like my new phone and locked out, and that seem to have triggered some internal flag for the BA app to follow suit. I am speculating. There was no clear message on why there was a lock out, but when I tried again a couple of days later during the week it worked.

  • Annoying

    Consistently logs you out for no reason, and does not recognize your password. This in turn forces you to reset it; and you can’t use the same password twice.

  • Redesign has ruined free app

    Version 5.19.9 is the first that includes the new design and it has ruined what used to be a very good app. Aside from the tracking issues that have been well documented (and I appreciate that there appears to be a workaround), spending avios on British airways flights has become a lot harder. Can’t search for specific dates and see availabilities in all classes, can’t search for one way tickets originating in another country without receiving an error message that British airways doesn’t fly from there (I am pretty sure British airways flies from NYC :/).

    Considering BA presumably wants to make it as easy as possible for people to spend their avios, this update is bizarre. The app wasn’t broken, so why try to fix it.

    I just want to be able to search for specific routes on specific dates and then be taken through to the usual avios booking experience

    Useless
  • Was good, but Shop Now button no longer works

    Have found some great offers, but the Shop Now button doesn’t do anything in “Collect Points” on my iPhone
  • New design

    Really dislike the new design. It’s much less intuitive than the previous one with some, now redundant, menus.
    Previously, on the collect menu it was so easy to scroll through partners, now you have to search for them? It makes more difficult to just see what partners you have. It’s great to have the different, categories, but it should be a filter option rather than only the categories. I like to browse through all partners and see where I can earn avios. It’s inspiring! Now, it’s impossible to do. Every menu button feels like “it’s locked” and you have to click through so much more than before to find what you need.
    The collection via credit card is gone completely? Although you can still register cards… the home menu is useless, there’s nothing useful or interesting there.
    Overall a very poor redesign, it made it less user friendly.

  • Taking away points when travel was impossible

    Nice, I built up a load of Avíos points and then you took away the flights from Denver so I couldn’t use them and when the flights returned you took them away. When I emailed you about the subject you failed to respond. Cheap skates.

  • Terrible app

    Search function simply does not work. Even if it did, departure cities appear to be limited to UK only.
  • Better doesn’t mean good

    Since the revamp of the app, general functionality and navigation have improved. However the issues and errors when topping up the MasterCard are still plenty, especially when considering a reliable bank like would be HSBC confirm the money has left the account but the BA MasterCard tab does not confirm it being received. Customer service advice friendly but unhelpful “wait 48 hours and otherwise contact your bank” - the issue seems to be this card / app and not my bank which works perfectly. A lot of improvement but saying that, we did part from an app base that was truly nightmarish to navigate. Good improvement but definitely needs a lot more work, especially considering money is involved.
