Love this Idea, but Prices are too High
I love this idea - I lived in Europe for a year and was a frequent user of Bla-Bla car. There are 2 features of Bla-Bla car that I would love to see with Hitch.
1. Driver and Passenger identity is public information, and if I remember correctly you can leave ratings. The most important part of this is being able to see who you are letting in your car, or whose car you are getting into.
2. Prices were actually affordable. Drivers would only charge $20-$30 a spot for short drives (2 hrs or so). If it were a longer drive maybe it would be $50-$60.
I needed a ride from Fort Worth to Waco the other day and it was $160… more expensive than renting a car in our inflated economy. For this reason I haven’t been able to afford to use the services yet.Show lessjrwfnoursgjoptdd
High Five for Hitch
I’ve had only awesome experiences so far from Houston to Austin for South by Southwest. On the way up I rode solo with a driver in a car. In the way back I had a seat in a Mercedes type sprinter van with a handful of folks. Very comfy. Plenty USB ports to charge devices.
I got a driver who made me uncomfortable with some of his driving. He mentioned how long he had been driving (for hitch and other platforms) and he was all jacked up on Mountain Dew and coffee and energy drinks and was driving erratically. I made it safe, and let Hitch know and was pleased with their customer service and resolution.

High Potential
This traveling app has the potential to give accessibility to people who need it most for fair prices!! I am a college student without accessibility to travel between cities but Hitch allows me the opportunity to travel for affordable prices! I would say improvement lies in software/errors/minor bugs but overall succeeds in display, usability, and safe rides! The app itself needs the work, but the intention, the rides, and the mission outperform any traveling app i’ve ever seen before.

Great app, great service.
I stumbled across this app randomly - I was in Houston for work and I had some friends who live Austin. Normally I would fly, but I decided to give this app a try and I'm really happy I did. My driver arrived promptly on time, my ride was smooth and I was dropped off in Austin in 2 hours, which saved me the hassle of having to go through security and to through the flying experience (which during the pandemic we can all agree has become painful). In addition, customer service was spot on. Even though the customer service stated they weren't available on the weekends, I sent them a message prior to my ride on a Saturday and I got a prompt response. Five stars. So easy, economical and safe!
Very highly recommend! So grateful for this app! I’ve traveled with Hitch twice from Austin to Houston and back. My first trip was in 2021 and the second was in 2022. Both trips were super easy to book, my drivers showed up early or within 10 minutes of scheduled arrival time, and most importantly, I felt very safe. I have used the Standard ride, where I met at a designated location, and the Premier ride, where they picked me up and dropped me off at a location of my choosing. Best Between City Transportation
My favorite thing about hitch has to be the pricing, along with the convenience of the stop locations. For low income individuals like me some of the lower priced hitch rides have been really convenient for me, I can’t believe I had ever been spending so much on greyhound. On top of that, the services are much better than that of a bus and the drivers are always super friendly. Just a wonderful experience overall, if pricing stays the same/lowers and services stay the same then hitch is just a no brainer.Show less-?/;,.?!....-:/
Fantastic Service with MOST drivers
I’ve used hitch for the past two years to travel between Dallas and Houston. For the most part, drivers are responsive, they are early to the pickup location, and the rides have gone super smoothly. My only complaint is a specific driver two was an hour late and made me get home to Dallas almost 2 hours lasted than scheduled. He also made a lot of long stops a bucees and several other gas stations.

Love this app
As a college student without a car this app is extremely affordable and convenient! I have always felt comfortable on my rides and have almost always been paired up with other college students who were leaving or going to their hometown during breaks. My overall experience has been great and I would suggest this app to anyone who wants to travel long distance at an affordable price! I will say to keep in mind that the pick up/drop off locations are not always exactly nearest to the desired addresses so take that into account before planning a trip !Show lesstiff_1103
Great app (especially for college students)
I started using hitch during my freshman year of college. You get a large discount on your first ride as a college student and many discounts are available after that. Referring friends and just using the app gets you more and more money off. The support people within the app work with you efficiently and in a timely manner. The rides are relatively cheap and comfortable. As a college student with no car, this is such a useful service. I would DEFINITELY recommend to get it.Show lessChim A
Excellent driver, slight glitch issues
Although the service was amicable between the rides and the driver, the initial process to actually getting to the designated driver poses some issues. I experienced some issues with the app cancelling my ride, but was able to contact support and find a different ride less than an hour later. Overall, I find most of my issues to concern with glitches in actually scheduling the ride, and found most of my support to come from customer service and the drivers designated.Show lessKyraelijah
