  • Pretty but not performant

The good news is that the graphical elements are pretty and intuitive. But for a brand that prides itself in delightful thoughtfulness it’s very disappointing that the engineers of the app put no thought into performance and scalability. This app intends to facilitate Virgin cruise passengers to make reservations for spa, restaurants, excursions and deals. There are numerous situations where clicking any button puts the app into a spinning hold for it to process whatever you clicked on. Too many frequently used options requires deep scrolling to access. We see error messages booking this and that only to find out later the booking did go thru so what error was that? There are hiccups pretty much every time we try to do anything beyond basic functionalities. I haven’t started my first cruise yet and I’m already aggravated.

  • Poor programming

App once on board can not be accessed from off ship wifi. Rather useless when on shore leave. Overall a clunky app. Booking features rarely work
  • Improved

Much improved over time! Handy on the ship
  • Bugs and more bugs

Just downloaded and have wasted 20 minutes fighting with it just to set up my profile for an up coming cruise (which is showing up) and can’t get through it. From other horrible ratings going back a year it appears that this is just the tip of the iceberg, and there’s been no effort to fix multiple problems with this substandard app. First I had to fight to get it to accept the year in my DOB- would only accept the first 3 numbers. Finally got it to work by inputting the last 2 numbers, then moving the cursor to insert 19 at the beginning. Now I’m fighting with the selfie photo- it keeps rejecting it over and saying it shows a “foul gesture”. Is this their way of saying I’m too ugly to go on one of their cruises? Not sure where I even go from here, because it won’t let me proceed without a photo.

Update: 13 days out from the cruise now, and constantly getting error messages and problems loading pages to book things. Tried going to their main web page, and things there are just as buggy, error messages and selections not loading. Everyone on my cruise is having the same issues so it’s not just me; shows a complete lack of consideration for your customers time to keep wasting it like this with glitches that, from other reviews, never get addressed. Maybe consider just going back to a basic app and webpage with simple buttons and pull downs that actually work instead of trying to be flashy.

  • Needs a lot of work

We’re having a nice time on our virgin voyages cruise so far but this app really does need a lot of work and investment from virgin to bring it up to the standard of virtually any other app we use day to day. The app crashes often and only works on the ship wifi, so when you are off the boat you can’t access any of the ship services, including booking experiences etc. this doesn’t make any sense from a business point of view because a lot of the time we could get a sudden urge to arrange an experience etc but are unable to, or are unable to check the ship time etc to ensure we are back in plenty time. We’re also unable to access the local guide which I feel is used to advertise businesses to sailors, so there’s so many ways that the app lets itself and the cruise down. There’s so many missed opportunities it’s painful, the interface is very cluttered, and the reliability is very poor - i would be happy to offer any more detailed feedback to help to improve this with future versions

  • Doesn’t work

The app seems to run fine on my older iPad, but I can never get it to run on my iPhone 13 running latest iOS version. “Hmm we seem to be having problems loading your data” error message repeatedly.
  • Impossible

I was so excited about my VV cruise. But using this App has really lessened my joy. Trying to make reservations and excursions and what a nightmare it is. If this works so horribly, how can I believe that the cruise will be run better? Other cruise lines have figured this out - why can’t a big company like Virgin do so??? Very disappointed.

  • Nightmare

It’ a nightmare! All other cruise apps are so much easier to navigate.
  • Fur coat no knickers!

This App is branded Virgin but does nothing at all to match the brand image!
Its cheap and nasty, doesn’t work and despite the money Virgin Voyages must make surely they could find a company to build an app worthy of the brand and their customers.

It never works! Currently we cannot add bar tabs to our booking unless we call, so I call but am told they can’t be paid for direct and I have to go back through my agent 🙈 first cruise coming up and I hope it’s better than the app 😩
