  • Bad bad bad!

    The worst app in the history of apps. Probably had to delete and reinstall a dozen times across 2 cruises with virgin, so one would have hoped they’d fixed it by now. Clearly the feedback from sailors isn’t being taken onboard (no pun intended).
    All the reviews about the app, including this one, are pointless anyway because it’s not like you can choose an alternative app or not use it at all. I guess Virgin are counting on the voyage itself making people forget how the app is really just a square wheel.

  • App frustration

    We cruised on the Scarlet Lady last week. I like the concept of using the App as a form of all communication onboard the ship. No loud speaker announcements all the time. However, the app is unstable. I had to close and reload a minimum of 4X day due to bug issues and freezing. Worst day was the embarking at Terminal V when app nor wi-fi worked and we were waiting to get our Covid test results. They kept giving us different passwords and instructions every few minutes while in the terminal. Virgin Voyages is a wonderful cruise line but IT has major issues that need fixed.

  • Issue

    Well the app was working alright (slow but still working) up until a couple of days ago. Now none of the images have been appearing the past day or so and it keeps glitching, showing the spinning V, and shutting down. I feel bad for everyone who has had it even worse and it’s interfering with their trip. Looks like some bugs need to be worked out.

  • Started well…went down hill after that.

    I had great first impressions from this app. I’m going on a cruise with virgin voyages in a few weeks so started getting my details sorted on the app. I also booked into any of the restaurants I wanted to make reservations with. This all went super smoothly and I loved everything about the app. I was especially looking forward to using it if I wanted to order drinks to where I am on the ship. However over the past 2 weeks I have been trying to get back onto the app and all I’m getting is ‘oooops there has been a technical fault please try later’ window. I have deleted and reinstalled the app but this hasn’t helped. My family who are coming with me on the cruise also have been encountering the same problem. I really hope this fault gets sorted very soon as we were hoping to use this app a lot to book our excursions and classes as well as other things. This is a huge disappointment!

  • Great company, room for improvement

    Being in the business field I understand that this is a startup company and they are working out the kinks. The overall experience in the ship was unmatched by any other cruise line. When the app works as expected it enhances the experience. I’m giving five stars because I am confident with some bug fixes this application will work great. No other cruise ship that I have been on has had such advancement using technology. Will definitely be booking again and looking forward to the improvements made. 1.7 stars on this application is not a fair rating, everyone has to start someone and I think this is an excellent start.

  • Complete fail from Richard and Virgin

    This app is awful. It’s extremely buggy. Freezes all the time. Has to be closed and reopened. Has to be reinstalled. No deck plan. Your cruise documents are listed under app settings?!

    The worst of it is support. No one offers anything outside of the most obvious things like close the app or reinstall it. No duh. Beyond that the Virgin staff is clueless. You’ll never get anywhere with it.

    For being the “latest and greatest” cruise line, you’ve completely failed here.

  • Unreliable

    I leave in 20 days and I can’t get the app to stay open so I can upload the things I need on the ship to function. Last cruise it kept kicking me off and locking up. The advice is comical as you have to uninstall to make it work. I’m surprised that a company this large can’t make a reliable and user friendly app.
    I hope the app doesn’t disappear with all my transactions immediately upon leaving the ship like last time. Come on Richard- higher standards!

  • Shame

    The bugginess of this app wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t an important part of the cruise experience. You know it has issues when they recommend in on board documentation that if you have app problems, you should not reinstall the app when using ship’s WiFi due to slow connection speeds (honestly, even the free WiFi was plenty responsive). This is terrible advice since this is the ONLY way to recover from the “connection problem” error, which I absolutely guarantee will happen at least once during your trip (three times for me). Also, expect to force close the app frequently. While annoying, this fixed most issues.

    When it works, functionality isn’t too bad. It could use some fine-tuning, but otherwise works well. PS: Expect the menus in the app to slightly differ from what you get in the restaurants.

  • Diabolical

    This app is the worst advertisement for this cruiseline. I am due to sail in March and going by the app, I am not really looking forward to it. I just hope it is not as bad as their technology team seem too suggest. The app just does not work. When I called Virgin direct, they insisted, at first, that it was absolutely fine. When I told her that the internet was full of comments about it not working, she amended her comment to be, ‘It is being worked on, at the moment’. Get it fixed, or take it off.

  • Worst app in history. Buggy is being kind.

    It boggles my mind that they’ve launched a cruise line with this app so dysfunctional. We took a New Year’s cruise and had to delete and reinstall the app numerous times and now, we can’t even delete it to reinstall. Now, we can only “remove from home screen” and only option is to “keep in app library”. Worst of all, you can’t use a computer or website to see shore excursions, cruise details. This is incredibly frustrating. I only wish it was possible to give it zero stars.
