  • Almost useless

    The app and the Virgin Voyages website are both seriously lacking in functionality and usefulness. I go on a cruise in about a months time, so have started adding the info that’s been asked for. It’s so glitchy, half the buttons and images are missing on my iPhone XS, yet are visible on my wife’s iPhone 7? I can’t believe that neither app or website have an easily accessed itinerary, i.e. just a simple “you are here on these days at these times”. I had to check my original booking to remind myself where we would be when booking dinner. Sure, it will tell you dates and what’s happening on board, but unless it’s another glitch, nothing about where you actually are on those days. And then it crashes. Extremely poor, I hope it’s not an insight into the tech onboard 😬

    Simply doesn’t work. Can’t send feedback from the app either.

    The app is a bit slow and clunky. In trying to make restaurant reservations it’s very spotty. For example, I can make a reservation for myself, however when I try to make it for a larger party it still makes a reservation for one person. No option in the reservation area for a brief note. If you encourage reservations for planning purposes, you need to do much better. It would not except my cabin mates credit card, he would just get to a point and it would just get stuck, and we verified accurate input numerous times. I was able to go into my app and do it for him because we were on the same booking number.

  • Dreadful

    The app keeps crashing. I’ve had to delete the app and reinstall several times and to be honest if I didn’t need it for my upcoming voyage I’d have binned it by now. The latest problem I have with the app is that it refuses to accept there is a country called Ireland. I’m required to enter my passport details as part of pre check in before the voyage. I entered my passport details and it ask “country of issue” there is a drop down menu but no Ireland. I called support waited an hour only to be told yea we’ve missed a few countries just don’t use pre check in. I ask if they intend to fix this obvious omission- maybe but not anytime soon was the reply.
    Update - true to there word an updated version of the app has been issued but they haven’t fixed the issue of missing countries. You’d imagine if you invested hundreds of millions in four massive ships you’d spend a few pounds on making your app work.

  • Expect so much better from Virgin

    What is with this app? Been getting errors for days and now just downloaded latest update. Closed app, reopened and now can’t even login without getting an error. Offers to send an error report. Click on SEND and doesn’t action, comes up with new error. Suggest to sign in again to clear the pipes….which is pointless as can’t sign in to begin with. Totally useless :-(

  • Slick but slow

    The app has definite WOW factor in its design, but unfortunately it lacks in performance. A few particulars that could use help: the ship maps are an important part of your first few days on board and these were difficult to find. I frequently found myself lost navigating the app trying to find crucial information. The app also appears to hit no less than a thousand APIs upon startup fetching every piece of data in the universe. It’s entirely too slow, especially on intermittent ship wifi, to launch the app.

    I found the animations, clever commentary, and some functions to be quite nice, but unfortunately it doesn’t make up for a lack of performance.

    I have restarted and reinstalled both my phone and the app and I continue to get the error” uh oh, we hit a snag, your request can’t be processed. Please try again” How many times do I need to try again? How will I register if I it’s not accepting my email and password…

    I decided to update my review from 1 star to 4 because the app appears to be working perfectly now. I did have to call and email a ton but the issue seems resolved. I was successful w/ check in and making dining & entertainment reservations accordingly.

  • Terrible

    This app is not what I expect from a company that I trust like Virgin. It’s full of glitches, slow, limited and is pretty much useless. The good things are that it links you to on board activities to book, but it’s soooo slow and it doesn’t seem to speak to the main Virgin booking system properly. It randomly logs me out, then doesn’t recognise my new password that’s been entered on the website etc. you can’t even see your actual cruise itinerary on the app which is shocking ….. you can’t upload on board credit …… it’s just so limited ….. then add on that it’s slow and glitchy. I really hope Virgin ditch whoever developed this app as it doesn’t work on the level you would expect from a brand like Virgin.

  • Unable to get past the login screen

    I’ve had the virgin app downloaded for about 2 weeks now, up until one of the recent updates logging in has been no issue, app worked fine. But since a recent update I’ve been unable to get past the login screen and keep getting an error display to something to the effect of “failed to process your request, try again later”. How this update got past Apple and Virgins development team is truly shocking. Unfortunately the only way to complete checkin is via the App. I had to contact “Sailor Services” to book dining which was supper simple just frustrating that I should’ve been able to do it via the app but it won’t let me login. PLEASE FIX THIS

  • The worst. What a disappointment

    Seemed to work initially before boarding Caribbean cruise.
    Hasn’t worked once since departure.
    Unable to get passed the sign-in. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times.
    Assume it has something to do with musical rooms that we had to play the first day. But that’s another saga.
    Virgin staff aka Sailor Services unable to solve issue.
    Unfortunately you need this app for pretty much everything on board.
    So much for a paperless world.
    Not impressed for a company that prides itself for supposedly being trendy and on the cutting edge.
