Basic Quality of Life Missing
1. When I add a custom food item, I shouldn’t have to individually delete each placeholder “0” . (Eventually it really should just let me take a picture of the label tbh)
2. When I hit Add-to-Plate, that should also tare the scale.
3. Why is it so slow to pull up search results and item nutrition info? Are you reaching out to the server everytime? At least my recents and customs should be cached.
4. Let me create “custom dishes”. Imagine cooking a lasagna. Currently I have to sit and do the tedious math to convert the nutrient information of each ingredient to a standard per unit mass number, add them all up, then enter into the app as a “custom food”. Instead: I should be able to make a “custom meal” where I enter the ingredient amounts (sourced your existing database AND my custom foods) and the app calculates the per 100g info.Show lessAdriandp

For this review I’m only focusing on the user interface. Other reviews addressed the bugs. The “new” app wasn’t tested with actual users before launching. There are too many steps required to get to the core of why you want to use the scale: current weight, how did it change from the last weigh-in, etc. The old version provided a glimpse with one tap. I am not allergic to change and know it is inevitable. But for the life of me I don’t understand why you would take something as critical as a user interface and not listen to feedback from actual users. Your app rating tanked with the launch of the new app. I really hope dramatic user interface changes are pending. Get user feedback before launching. I’m looking at other Bluetooth scale and tape measure options now.Show lessBD620

Dear customer, I understand that new APP is a little different from the old APP. Since we integrate more products into the new APP, the new APP interface is different from the Renpho APP interface, but the users can manage data from different devices in just one APP. I think this is more convenient for part of users. And we will also add more features to the new APP gradually. Not intuitive and after several uses made me re-set my password.
But it gets worse! It lets you record detailed body measurements, but write them down or screenshot them because if you update a measurement and hit the gray Save button, (instead of the “Keep Measuring” button), it clears all your measurement history except the one you just updated. So, after 3 months and 25 lbs weight loss plus noticeable muscle gain, I now have no starting measurements to compare!
Also, in the metabolic data, after a couple months of weightlifting and obvious muscle gain, it’s saying my muscle-mass measurement has actually gone DOWN! So not right! (To be fair, this could be the scale’s fault, but the other problems are all the app.)Show lessWeed Rat Stew

After seeing all the negative reviews here I went to download the older version but it says it will be retired soon and sends you back here. So far I think the app is great assuming it’s accurate. It measures so many things and I just hope they are all correct. If it is accurate I’m super healthy and my metabolic age is much younger than my real age so I hope it is. Unfortunately there’s no real way to test it other than getting a professional assessment. The only negative thing I have to say is that if you move the scale and recalibrate it, it reverts back to Kg which is really annoying.Show lessAliciaHollywood

Dear customer, sorry for the inconvenience caused. If you want to change the weight unit. Please follow the steps below: 1. Open the APP, it will default to the "Home" page of the APP. 2. Tap on "Me" in the bottom right corner. 3. The primary user's basic information(Avatar, Name, APP account e-mail) will be shown at the top of the screen. Tap the avatar, this will take you to the "Personal information" page. 4. Tap the weight to the right of "Weight", it will pop up a window stating "Select weight". The weight unit is listed on the right line. You can swipe it up/down to select the target weight unit, and then tap "Confirm". 5. Tap "Save" in the upper right corner of the "Personal information" page. The APP will show you "Changes saved" if the setting is saved successfully. Tips: 1. Once you change the unit successfully, it will apply to all the users(including primary user, measurement user and baby user) of your APP account. 2. If the weight unit display of the scale is different from the APP setting, the scale will update the unit automatically when the data on the scale syncs to the APP with the next measurement. After another update, app is working properly. A bit differently than old app, but also some easier to use features, such as History is easier to find and use. Developer responded to issues, and new update corrected problems. Frustrating that new releases are not thoroughly vetted before release and require complaints and additional updates to work properly. But that is the way of things these days i guess. in any event Renpho is back to a 5+ star app in my opinion. Thank you Renpho.
Old Review:
Doesnt sync with scale. Old app you just step on scale, the dial on phone screen spins, and youre weighed in. New app youre lucky if it notices you at all, have to weigh in more than once to get it to work, and then it asks whose data it is. Do developers ever actually try their own apps before releasing them?? Took a 5-star app and made it a 1-star. Way to go guys.Show less43ksL9
THE NEW APP
I DON’T want this stupid new app & im sick of the reminders to download it in the old app. I feel like I make be ditching every Renpho product I have and getting something else that’s more consistent
Please stop making changes that aren’t necessary. The original Renpho app with the scale works great. I don’t want to use the new app and I keep getting a reminder to go to it. I don’t want the new app. Improve the original app, add to that . Having two different apps is confusing, annoying, and it’s over kill. Find myself using the old app and really hope it doesn’t go away/lose support. Interface on this one seems more complex than it needs to be. Give me quick at a glance screens put social in its own place, I don’t use it and probably never will. Just weighting seems to be less streamlined than old app. Old app was just open and hop on scale, screen dial spins to weight in real time. This app doesn’t notice you get in the scale and you have to tap the screen for it to ping the scale for data, why. Old app is able to sync with apple health and relay that info to other apps where are this one seems to have lost that function. Now I’m in this loop of use old app then sync to this app but starting to wonder why if it’s just off on its own. Tried syncing data, thinking there’s got to be something in settings on the app or my phone but trying to sync data on app logged me out… This app in in need of a serious update/overall to even get on the same level as the old app.Show less2827;7,&;&:&2&22

If you are expecting this app to do some thing, extraordinary and innovative, that’s just not the case. The app takes care of the fundamental with weight tracking and all the fancy features like count back to weight loss are imo a waste.
Additionally, I know there’s a lot of negative reviews but it seems they’re mostly from people that had the old app and couldn’t transfer over their data. It is really unfortunate and something the developers should’ve consider knowing that people have to create account and accumulated this history so they should’ve been able to transfer it like phone data or transfer it because it is a the account level.

I have been using the Renpho app for two years and really like it. But the new update is terrible. It makes you jump through different hoops when all I want to do is log my weight. It’s so bad I just want to delete it but then I lose all my data. I don’t know who designed the UI on this, but it is terrible. I rarely leave reviews. But I hope that you can release a product that is as good as your scale that simply does what most of us do, which is register our daily weight without having to go through all kinds of different screens.Show lessMarko Schmitt
Didn't fix the biggest problem
You developed a whole new app and didn't fix the hugest problem with your app: the trend graphs. Your trend graphs are mathematically incorrect due to incorrect interval spacing. I complained about this in the previous app and downloaded this new one ONLY because I hoped this issue was fixed. I love your scale but hate your apps due to the mathematical inaccuracy of your graphs. I will continue using your app ONLY to sync and will then use apple health to view and interact with the data since their graphs have mathematically correct intervals and therefore show a more accurate visual for the pace if my weight loss.Show lessAnonymous My
