  • It’s better than Kenwood

Purchased new after returning KENWOOD dash cam. For the same price Rove R2-4K is better. Start was easy and fast the menu settings had no lags.
Tested it indoors camera quality is good sound clarity is good respond time between recordings and play back is quick.

Brought it just to use it as dash cam. It’s is simple fast and easy to operate. It’s is worth its price compared to name brands. Will write another review if this last for more than a year or how the customer service department works if I have a problem and how they solve it. Hopefully I don’t get one.
  • Supposed to make it easier but went backwards

The new update I had to uninstall app and reinstall it even to just log in
  • Hard to Use

This dash cam only records when you tell it to do so, but I cannot find how to save a recording.
  • What’s the problem?

I’m a tad bewildered at the bad reviews this app is getting. Perhaps in earlier incarnations it was a mess, but I’m very pleased with it so far. Signing up is no big deal, this is par the course in ‘23, people. I did it once and have not been asked again. It’s honestly not a big deal.

The app is clean, well laid out and snappy. Wi-Fi works great, it connects for me when needed and I’m getting a consistent 10-15mb/s transfer rate, which copies 500+MB videos to my phone in a few minutes at most. It’s very fast. I don’t use this app to use as a live feed when driving, I’m not sure why someone would want this? The cam has an LCD screen right there on the front, why would you want it on your phone which could be used for many other things? Dash cam is passive. All I use the app for is to change settings and to peruse footage when/if needed, which it does.

Which is my one gripe so far; I’m not exactly clear on how to lock down and single out particular footage? I hit the orange lock button immediately after a slight incident today, it beeps in acknowledging my touch , but in my “events” folder it only shows the final minutes of my drive which were a half hour later, which was completely irrelevant to the footage I wanted? I’m sure I could find the footage I need if I DL all files from the day’s drive and scan through all of it, but that seems unnecessarily cumbersome, time consuming and tedious. I feel this is just unfamiliarity on my part at this point however, so tomorrow I’m going to be doing a bit of experimenting. But as is, I’m still curious as to how exactly it records and what it saves when this button is pressed, even the instructions aren’t the clearest on this.

    Otherwise, I’m pleased.
  • Gave 5 stars at first

Followed directions from support and the app worked fine, BUT, I just tried to go back on the app to retrieve a needed video and it wouldn’t sign in, said email not in our system, tried the three emails I use and same msg. Made me sign up again, after doing that, I can connect to the camera but the only thing it will let me do is look at live video, doesn’t load any of the videos that are stored on the camera, what a waste of time.
  • Money wasted on this camera

It worked for very little now it doesn’t work anymore, terrible app hw and everything
  • Good camera, horrible app

Camera works fine but the app interface is awful. Why should I have to sign up and login to a web account so I can access a local WiFi connection to my camera? Then the app loses stored credentials so you can’t connect and save your recordings when you most need to. Solid device ruined by abysmal app design choices.
  • App and wi fi stink

App and wi fi do not work very well.
  • Terrible App

I found this application is terrible, first you need to make an account. Sign in to use it. That alone is annoying, but not the end of the world.

What is the end of the world when the memory card is full of videos they do not show up on the app.

You also get many spinning disco and the app hangs.
  • Have to have an account

Do not update your app. The latest one forces you to either sign in to a Rove account or sign up for one
