  • Load times have increased

Unfortunately quality has dropped precipitously over the last couple months. At this time there is no guarantee that transactions will load and if you want to reload your transactions get ready for a couple minute wait for them to load in.

I appreciated the simple approach to sharing finances with a partner and while I was always hoping for more statistics and category display of purchases across both accounts Tandem still offered what I needed out of it until recently.

I am a bit frustrated at the drop in quality for a paid service and will be looking for alternatives.
  • Great For Splitting Expenses with a Partner

Tandem has been a game-changer for my partner and me! We used to juggle expenses back and forth, which was confusing and hard to keep track of. Since discovering Tandem, splitting expenses has become a breeze. We love how easy it is to swipe and split expenses, keeping us consistent and transparent about our finances. Plus, being able to track our spending as a couple has been incredibly insightful. The setup was seamless, and the ability to add expenses from different credit cards is a huge plus. So grateful we found this app!
  • Life-Changer for Couples!

My partner and I used to manage our monthly expenses with Splitwise, and honestly, it was quite the headache sifting through all my credit cards to figure out what we needed to split. Then, one day, I saw an ad for Tandem on my social media and decided to give it a try. And wow, let me tell you, it has become one of our favorite apps. Now, handling expenses is a breeze and takes less than a few minutes. I wholeheartedly recommend it to any couple who splits expenses regularly. It's been a game-changer for us.
  • Great in theory, but not working for us

We’ve used Splitwise for a few years to track expenses and didn’t want to pay for premium, so we started exploring similar apps. Tandem seemed awesome and we happily paid the fee for the first year. Unfortunately, after using it for a few weeks, we’ve realized there are a lot of issues.

Firstly, one day I noticed no transactions had shown up in days. For some reason it just stopped importing data from my accounts. So I had to unlink everything and reinstall and set my accounts up again. But now, there are tons of duplicate charges, which makes it incredibly confusing. Tough to keep track of what has already been split and what hasn’t.

I requested a refund because of these issues and support said they’d work on it. It’s been a few days and I’m hoping they make good on that.

If these issues are fixed in the future I’d love to revisit it. It’s a super promising service and I like the interface a lot, it just didn’t function the way it should for us.
  • Blessing

Tandem has been a blessing to my relationship, in regard to finances. I was reluctant at first to download another new app but quite frankly, with the function this app provides, it’s a game changer. The expenses split between my partner and I were often completely forgotten about and at times very one sided (for both of us) because of this. Now we have an easy place to track everything and decide what we want to split and at what percent. It has allowed the financial aspect of my relationship to be hassle free and transparent, alleviating any anxiety that finances can often induce. I am a huge fan and user for life!
  • Great, but there’s a bug

Overall I do really like this app! Interface is great at importing transactions, and swiping which are shared expenses and which are not.

However, there is a bug when editing a shared expense. You can edit by percent or by value. Percent works fine. But when I go to split the expense by dollar value, after I press save the amount changes to 100% for the other party. Every time. And then I have to manually calculate the % difference and input that instead. Hire a SE contractor plz :)

Final shout out to the Instagram girl who gives all the awesome tips on setting up a shared email, registry hacks etc. Good stuff!
  • Great idea, way too early to hit market.

I like the concept of this app, but I’ve literally wasted hours, trying to make it work.

Their support was nice, but there wasn’t a lot they could do. I found several institutions said that we could connect, then they didn’t. I also found that transactions appeared out of order, making it very confusing for all parties to confirm everything at imported. To make matters worse as we try to fix everything some transactions imported multiple times, making it completely unusable.

I wish them the best and hope they can make this work, but as of now it’s going to waste a lot of time.
  • Great app! Definitely recommend ❤️

Honestly, my partner and I were always struggling to split our expenses throughout other apps. Now that everything is connected with Tandem it saves us sooo much time! Love the app ❤️ 100% recommend! Thanks for being on top of it 🙌
  • Easy

I heard about tandem on tik tok and decided to give it a shot. While it does take a long time for expenses to appear, once they are there it’s pretty easy to split things. We now keep a monthly tab and settle it at the end of the month. No more math or reminding ourselves what we wanted to split. It really has reduced the cognitive load around splitting expenses for trips and other big purchases.
  • Couple’s Finances Finally Simplified

Are you tired of having to shuffle money back and forth between you and your significant other for utilities, groceries or date night? Tandem is the solution for streamlining couple’s finances. Just securely add your credit cards and manage your expenses together. With simple swipe controls you can either split the charge 50/50, remove it from the list, or tap the charge to customize the split and even add a custom note so you both know what the expense was for. Tandem takes the stress out of “settling up” so you can focus on “settling down”.
