  • Scammed out of my top up

I paid for a 10 pound top-up and SIM card package (6GB). I used it for less than 24 hours and was suddenly told my credit had dropped to $0. No way I burned through the entire goody bag in that time.

There is no customer service line to call.

Objectively, a company which fails to provide any proper customer service and which provides faulty products has failed its customers.

If any employee of giffgaff can reach out to me and help me, I would be willing to change this review.

  • App ok but...

This app does what it needs to do - nice and easy to buy goody bags etc. Just one thing: when there’s an update available, please add a “not now” option to the pop up message! I tried using the app a few days ago, after realising I’d forgotten to get a new goody bag, but couldn’t use the app as I had no internet (I’d run out of credit & had no goody bag) and was not connected to WiFi (I was outside) and all it wanted me to do was update the app, which I couldn’t do... Thankfully, I was able to top up on the mobile website, but the message demanding I updated the app was annoying especially as there was no option to make it go away!!

  • Confusing/ not updating or expensive

Started with 4GB- lasted a week. That was fine. Topped up with £10 6GB - less than 24 hours says no data!! Used a new prepurchased SIM with 4GB- still says 0 Data. Frustrating! Rebooted still no data and email response says a response in 5 days!! Really?! How about now!
  • User friendly

User friendly app, easy to see data usage and to top up payments. However every time you send a text your whole screen gets a pop up saying you have a balance of £0- even though you have a plan paid for for another month.
  • Giffgaff

The GiffGaff app is so easy to use. Everything is very intuitive and straightforward. I love the fact I can pay for a goodie bag before it’s due so when it is due it’s already paid for and automatically carries on. No more break in service if you forget to get a goodie bag on the day it’s due. The fact I can have unlimited data or as GiffGaff calls it, always on, is awesome.
I get paid for introducing someone to giffgaff and I can make suggestions, via the app, and giffgaff will look at them and if they think it’s worthy they will implement it. That just cool!
By far the best sim only network

  • 3 days in and I’m impressed

I very rarely provide reviews of apps but in this case felt compelled to do so. I should focus on the app here but hells bells I’ve never been this impressed by a mobile network operator (or by any other company/business for that matter). I suppose expectations are low given the current players in the market but the overall user experience with Giffgaff has been stella. SIM card delivered the next day. Transfer of my existing number from a competitor was seamless (1 day). A question raised to customer support was answered promptly, accurately and clearly. To top it off the mobile app is excellent. 3 days after first contact and I’m up and running. So Giffgaff and all your staff, I doff my cap to you.

  • Payback

This is an excellent app, but My Payback doesn’t update at all. I’ve earned three paybacks and my app still says I have zero. Could you fix this please?
  • Best PAYG network ever!

I was put off slightly when I first joined giffgaff by the fact there’s no actual customer service agents to speak to directly but honestly has never once been a problem that’s because I’ve never had any problems etc that I’ve required a customer services call and anything I’ve wanted to know I’ve either had help from giffgaff community or there is help agents/ppl to ask a question to etc best goody bags which are best value for money and offer good packages I don’t think there is any of the very well known network providers with anything remotely as good as giffgaff they are brilliant

  • Not enough help/information

I would like to be able to see my usage. I’d like to ask questions of how the service works, and make decisions based on that information. I’d like to know what is and is not covered in my goodie bag. What the credit balance is used for and see those transactions. I feel like I’m hostage of money spent without ever knowing where it’s being us. I’d like to up able to upgrade data without starting a plan over. I can’t find a place to communicate with anyone who responds.

  • You just can’t go wrong!

    No contract? Really?!!!
There had to be a catch. What? No number to call if something goes wrong?! A forum??
Well, 6 years later and I still haven’t needed to ask for help. Keeping my old number was a sinch, took 10 minutes.
I can change my goodybag (tariff) every month if I want, even start one early if I use up my allowance for that month. If I don’t use my allowance up they email me to let me know that maybe next month I should buy a cheaper goodybag. With goodybags starting at £5 up to £25 for everything unlimited you really can’t go wrong. You can set the goodybag to recur or just buy one when needed. Or you can just payg, purchasing minutes and data as you need them.
GiffGaff uses the O2 network so you get the best bandwidth; totally beats EE, Virgin et al.
It’s like being in the perfect relationship. Nobody breathing down your neck, nobody saying you can’t go, you have to stay. Just do what you want. Stay.....Go.....Do what’s best for you 😁
Oh! The app’s pretty cool too!
