    Clumsy and poorly constructed with offline occurring regularly with poor back up
    Robot is fine originally and now cannot complete any basic tasks without getting stuck or running out of power before returning to its base - disappointing - I’ll be returning all for a credit after Xmas
  • My experience has been horrible.

    I’ve followed the instructions but the robot is always offline. The wifi connection appeared during initial pairing but failed and now doesn’t ever appear. Instructional videos are great, but not very helpful when the vac doesn’t show up on wifi. Basically I have a robot vac with the same level of functionality that I had with a basic Roomba 10 years ago.

  • Need lots of improvements

    Purchased Neato D7 this thanksgiving season and all our excitement vaporized when we started using the app.

    The App took several attempts to connect the Neato to our home WIFI. Finally somehow magically it did connect, then we were prompted to update Neato’s software and that took several attempts ... app just couldn’t download the software or initiate the upgrade.

    Next ordeal came in terms of setting up the floorplan. Neato got stuck at several places and there was no way for us to use the partial cleaning map to put the NO-GO lines.. it was like babysitting your robot to not get stuck. Our floor is about 1500 sq ft so it couldn’t finish mapping the floor in first charge and went back to base to recharging for couple of hours and then Restarted back in midnight and got stuck again.. had to Wakeup to unstuck...

    With frustration we stopped the neato as it was 1:00 am. Morning when thought to resume it has lost all the cleaning details and again had start from beginning!

    Just couldn’t understand why cant use partial maps to start putting no go line and as it keep cleaning keep updating the map.

    Looks like Neato app as well as Neato software needs major improvement

  • Refuses to connect

    I bought my D3 connected roughly a year ago if not less, I was so thrilled at how it worked and the detailed map of where my bot cleaned while I was sleeping, about 5 months into owning it however the app just quit working and I tried several times to reboot, the bot still worked but wouldn’t connect to the app. I have called customer service several times and wasted hours on the phone to no avail. I have several wifi enabled products in my home and none have ever lost connection outside of obvious circumstances. My Neato is set up right next to my wireless router but cannot find it, meanwhile somehow it finds my neighbors router. I’ve gone and typed in the router name and though ok I’ve got it but no it won’t let me get past naming the bot now... while the vacuum still works quite well the inability to use the app or run it on a schedule is super frustrating. I spent a lot of time looking for the vacuum that was right for me with 4 young kids and a golden retriever and was so sure I’d made the right choice both financially and from a performance standpoint but sadly I’m regretting what feels like money and time wasted.

  • New update removed basic features!

    The app was great to start with. Then update removed return to base button so have to chase an pick up if I want it to stop and go home. Either a mistake of some kind or just a cheap dig to try to get you to buy a more expensive bot. Unhappy currently
  • Top purchase

    I bought the Neato D7 a few months ago and it is one of the best purchases of my life. Works a charm and easy to set up and maintain. The weekly cleaning routine is all automated and controlled by the app on my phone. The app is very user friendly! Two thumbs up!
  • Unreliable, unstable, poor Alex support, stopped working

    The robot was working but suddenly it stopped. It said it couldn’t match the floor plan. Yet nothing has been moved. Everything is exactly the same, even the position of doors etc.

    Also when I activate manual cleaning mode it says the robot isn’t connected to the same WiFi. Yet it definitely is because I can activate the robot, check its status and do all the other things, proving it is connected.

    Why can't there be more warnings about it being undocked when it looks like it is docked. There are just programming inconsistencies which make the whole experience frustrating.

    The support for Alexa is really poor. You can’t ask Neato to clean one zone, only the whole room. You can’t ask Neato to dock, you have to manually carry it back to the dock if you want to finish the clean early.

    Fred has made our lives much easier thank you, he does a grand job of cleaning our place, including the hair from two (seem to be ) permanently moulting wire haired Jack Russells . This is excellent as we are both out at work for 3 days a week
  • Great Bot! App now doesn’t stay connected

    Like others here, I am super psyched with my Neato. Great vacuum! I’ve had him over a year and he’s still going strong, but a couple months ago, after one of my app upgrades, I noticed he was going “offline” fairly often. I followed the instructions and reset and that would work...for a few days. Rinse. Repeat. After my next update, I thought it would improve. Nope. Now I will reset and he’ll reconnect (usually) and I run him and after he docks, he’s offline again. I haven’t had a logged cleaning on my app since July even though I run him (usually manually now) three times a week. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app. No joy. I reset the poor little guy all the time and it doesn’t help. Soooooo... hoping the next update fixes this as I love my vacuum and thought the app was great back when it worked like it was supposed to. (And yes, like the others, my WiFi signal is strong)

  • Great Vac, Ok App

    The app lets you start cleanings, notifies you when the dust bin is full, if the robot has any troubles, and lets you setup a floor plan with no-go lines. For all that it does it’s job wonderfully well.

    Gotta call Neato out though, the app can have much more expanded functionality. Since most parts between robots are the same and they run on essentially the same software you guys really should unlock features dedicated to higher end models to also be available to the lower end. I can’t imagine there’s any good reason to hide “clean a specific room” to just the D7, and I’d challenge anyone from the Neato team to tell me otherwise with a non-BS explanation.

    These robots are really exceptional at their job, and the app can be a tool to elevate that experience. Making “gentle navigation” not available for scheduled cleanings is also baffling. There’s just some very basic software functionality that isn’t being utilized when it could be. Would really love to rate this app higher but I’m sensing there is some pushback from those who are making the app to not allow all the functionality to be available to users.
