What's New in FODMAP Snap

5.3.0

July 7, 2026

• Daily Check-in — log your mood, stress, and (optionally) menstrual cycle. Not every symptom comes from food, so the app can now tell true triggers from off days. • Foods to Avoid — add allergies and no-go foods; we'll flag them and never suggest them. • Smarter meal notes the AI reads. • New "urgency" symptom. Plus a faster app and fixes.

NOT for SIBO

If you are suffering from SIBO and not IBS, this is not the app for you. The app says it has a SIBO mode, but it will flag many food items as being negative for you when in fact, they’re OK. It genuinely just creates more frustration than it is worth.

On top of that, you can’t even really try it out without paying $40 for the year. On the free app, you get three scans or three meal entries a day. If you try and make an edit to one of those meals, it takes away one of your meals “scans” for the day.

IMHO if the publisher of this app really wants to gain more subscribers, it needs to give you an opportunity to try all of the features of the app for a full week before it forces an annual subscription down your throat.

Response from developer

Thank you for taking the time to write such detailed feedback, this is genuinely useful and we read every word. On SIBO: you're right that our SIBO mode errs on the cautious side, and for some foods that means flags you may not personally react to. That's intentional as a starting point, but it shouldn't stay in your way — the app is built to learn your tolerances over time, and you can manually adjust any food group's sensitivity under Settings → FODMAP Profile (and fine-tune SIBO behavior in Diet Mode). Making SIBO-specific flagging more accurate is a top priority, and your note helps us push on it. On editing a meal using up one of your daily scans: that's a bug, plain and simple — editing an existing meal should never count against your limit. Thank you for catching it. We're fixing it. On the free plan: we'd push back gently here. Three AI analyses a day covers breakfast, lunch, and dinner — a full day of logging for most people. Every scan runs real AI that costs us money, and we're a small team trying to build something sustainable, so we keep the free tier as generous as we honestly can. If you're scanning more than that daily, you're getting real value from the app — and that's exactly who Pro is built for. We'd genuinely like to make this right on the SIBO side — if you're open to it, email us at support@fodmapsnap.com and we'll help you get the app dialed in. — The FODMAPSnap team

Camera access???

I couldn’t get past the first analysis. It said it needed access to my camera to scan my first meal. It does have access. It does DO anything. The app also seems to overlap pictures and words as I am swiping from page to page.

Response from developer

Hi there, thanks for reaching out and sorry for the frustration! This sounds like a bug on our end, not anything you're doing wrong. The overlapping text/images issue helps us pinpoint it. Could you email us at support@fodmapsnap.com with your device model and iOS version? We'd love to fix this for you ASAP and will extend your trial once resolved. Thanks for your patience!
