  • Junk

App keeps forgetting cameras, I plan on canceling my subscription and going with thinkware and selling my BlackVue. I get this once a week sometimes I get my cameras back but I normally have to re add them back.

“ make sure the email and password are correct and check your network connection”

Yet I’m still logged in and can access all of my downloaded videos and my account is STILL being billed for the cloud.

  • What’s going on ? (Update- Thank you all working now)

What these kind of reviews/survey. Why wouldn’t this company who offers hardware to the public strive to make it better. I’ll telll you why. Because I think their more focused on something else. Or don’t have experience man power and know how. UPDATE—- From my previous post I must say “Everything is working smoothly now. Finally I can say I’m happy with my purchase. I don’t have any concerns. Live view playback. Front/rear,wifi ,hotspot 5g ,LTE, Connectivity. It all works with no hiccups. Thank you guys. Not let’s just keep it consistent.

  • Poor end user experience

The camera quality appears good (not that I have actually been able to view a video yet), but using the app and trying to view a video I have found impossible. It is so challenging for no reason, not user friendly at all, constantly drops connection, is so slow that it looses connection before you can view or download a video.
Its $120 a year to use the app, I do not recommend this product if you are looking for an easy to use and inexpensive product

  • Garbage app

No longer have access to older models of dash cams after updates.
  • Keeps disconnecting

I have a 900x but since the second last app update any time I go to play back on the camera it disconnects. If I try and download to footage it now just comes up failed. This was working perfectly unto the most recent updates
  • Mindblowingly bad - DO NOT BUY BLACKVUE

Had this dash cam for years and it worked just fine with the original old app. They’ve updated this app so much and now dash cams don’t connect to it and Pitta Soft has no customer support. Every update they do has makes this dash cam more useless.
  • Great camera but useless app

I have no issues with the camera quality (dr970x) but the app is pretty well unusable. It constantly looses connection with the camera, it then struggles to find the camera. The only solution seems to be to close the app completely and then try again. If you can get the app to stay connected long enough to enable you to complete your intended task then great, but I’ve just wasted an hour trying to view the “on camera” footage.
The app is essential for setting up the camera and therefore I can’t recommend buying Blackvue.

  • Has Greed spoiled a great product?

This used to be a great product. You could view videos, download them and use cloud if you wanted to.

Now they almost force you into a paid subscription. Sure, you get a free cloud account with your first camera, but not with subsequent purchases even though the advertising promises otherwise.

I don’t want to use the cloud. Why doesn’t the user interface make local use as easy as cloud use like it used to? Why has this function been effectively removed? Is it greed trying to force the user to use a cloud service that’s really not useful for non-commercial users?

Sure you could game the system by using different email addresses, but that would hardly be moral.

The great software is still there under the money grab: just turn off internet access and it reverts to “local mode”.

If local mode was in the user interface then I’d not be writing this damming review and be giving it a 4 out of 5 . Until that option is at least as visible as the cloud option this software gets the lowest rating possible.

  • Excellent cameras brought down by the app

I have the DR900S-2ch setup and it produces excellent pictures. The hardware is five star all the way. The app is not. If I do a fresh install of the app and set-up the camera WiFi connection from scratch, the app contacts the camera and works fine; once. A second attempt to contact the camera fails every time, requiring me to delete the WiFi info and the app and start from scratch again. This is why the system loses two stars. One other issue. All my other apps run sweet through the VPN I use. Not BlackVue; it complains about the connection and refuses to play ball. The app needs some quality control, bug fixes and a bit of a rethink on Internet connections but it has all of the foundations to become a really good addition to the top-draw hardware.
Update: it speaks volumes that there is not a single developer response here. I doubt the bother reading anything; hence the app falling tragically far behind the quality of the hardware.
Update: Getting videos out of the app has become an absolute dumpster fire. It used to be easy but they are obviously trying to force the user onto their clouds service.
Simple solution: DON’T BUY BLACKVUE CAMERAS.

  • Not What They Used to Be

I’ve had BlackVue installed a couple of cars and recommended to friends and family because of the high quality hardware and simple to use app. (which was understandably free given the premium cost of the hardware). It’s been about a year since I’ve had to use the app and have now discovered that not only does it no longer work, the upgraded app has moved to a subscription model.

I’m out. It’s a dash cam people, not a streaming service.
