  • All needs work

Roots has great food. The app however has many issues, for me it has been glitchy, and often it is very tricky to “remove” bowls from my shopping cart. It also is bothering that the price will not adjust downward for a custom bowl, when for example, you remove chicken, avocado, or other ingredients that add cost.

  • Wish it had order history for reorder

No problem with the food ordering on the app for pick up. I wish the app saved previous orders for quick reorder. I have to start from scratch every time. Seems like it should be an obvious fix.
Update: I found the link to reorder under account settings. Duh— maybe it was always there !? Updating my stars.

  • Wrong location

The app defaults to the location across town instead of the one next to my house. Learned this the hard way when the manager at the store I meant to order from noticed i had been standing there for 10 minutes and looked into my order number for me
  • Times out & 3 dish maximum

Absolutely LOVE Roots and its food options. However, two major issues with app is the 3 dish maximum and how it times out and deletes all pending orders after a few minutes. The time out issues should be an easy tech fix and eliminating 3 dish maximum would undoubtedly increase sales!
  • App is fine. But Why are ordered limited to 3 at once?!

App works great. Although it’s a hassle that this is the ONLY way to order. Can’t call or use the website.

I could deal with that if I didn’t have to make 2 orders everyone I placed an order for 4 people. What the heck?!
  • Bizarrely outdated app

It feels like this app was made 10 years ago. It does not adhere to modern UX functionality. Apple has standard frameworks and UI
elements (date picker, Apple Pay integration, user info integration, tap targets, etc) that would go a long way to bringing this app into the modern era. A little research and study into Swift and iOS development would help the developers eliminate the friction points and create a much smoother experience for users.

  • So Easy!

Roots tempted me with a coupon that I used a few weeks ago. It worked, now I’m hooked!
The app makes it sooooooo simple and easy to order what you want, then you just pick up your healthy, yummy bowel. I’ve used the app about five times now and the food has been ready for pickup when the app said it would be ready.
I’m on an iPhone. I’ve read other reviews of people having problems. I can say on an iPhone the app works great.

  • Too slow to be worth using

The app itself works great, but I often find that the earliest pickup time available is 30-45 minutes out. Not much point when you can order in person and get your food in less than 10 minutes. Why not have an “ASAP” option like other apps? Also, is it really that much of a technical hurdle to put a name on the orders instead of a number?

  • Bare minimum

App is a bare minimum for placing an order. In general that is not a bad thing - I don’t need a bunch of crap about what music is currently playing at the store or things like that in a restaurant app. One VERY annoying thing is I haven’t been able to figure out how to look at current rewards without actually placing an order. I’m pretty sure I lost a reward because I could never “find” it and didn’t know when it expired. That would be the one upgrade I would suggest.

  • Great food, app could be better

Would be better with an option to reorder previous orders. Can be time consuming and then you get kicked out of your time slot. That said, we love Roots and the ability to custom order!
