No access to shared albums is a deal-breaker
The devs *really* need to provide a way to use the standard iOS “photo picker” so we can access photos in shared albums!! (Please?!) When we get together for a group event, everybody puts their favorite photos into a shared album, and those albums are inaccessible with Journi! I know they have their own “shared photos” solution that they think is sufficient, BUT IT’S NOT. (People don’t want to deal with other apps and “special instructions”.) It’s enough of a challenge to get folks to add photos to a shared album (and that only takes a few taps!) Other apps on the App Store allow access to the built-in shared albums, so it’s NOT a technical limitation. There have been lots of updates to the app in the years since I initially mentioned this but it continues to be ignored. 😢Show lessEddyGeez!

Unfortunately we do not get access to shared albums, but you can use our family & friends-photosource instead. When you are in the photo selector, switch the source from "phone" to "friends & family", give them the visible link, where they can then upload their photos and make them available for you.Amazing customer service
I am so impressed with the service I received from the team at Journi! I had ordered several photobooks from them, and initially had a problem with partial printing of one photo in the book. After alerting the team this was immediately rectified, and I was sent another copy very quickly, free of charge. I then went on to have a package unfortunately stolen from my apartment building, and after telling Journi about this problem I was sent the entire order for free! I was so impressed by how quickly I received responses to my queries, and how helpful the team was (shout out to Emilia!). Fabulous customer service, would recommend this company to everyone! Plus - goes without saying really, but the quality is always great!

Easy to use, but EXPENSIVE
I was impressed with how easy to use this app is. The algorithm makes it simple to group photos together and I was able to create a book (which covered a year) quickly! I went to check out annnnd it was over $300…😳 A discount shaved off about $90, BUT STILL. The convenience may be worth it to someone else, but I’d rather put in a bit more work with Shutterfly to save myself money.Show lessthingclaire

I LOVED that I could select as many photos as I wanted. The best part was they automatically laid the photos out on the pages and did the best job grouping them by date and subject! I can’t wIt to receive my book.frost59

There are better options
I have been trying a lot of photo book companies and thought this would be a neat alternative - The maps (what seems to be this company’s differentiator?) are OK but really just google maps and aren’t all that pretty in the book when printed. You could format your own google maps and screenshot for a book easily.
The price even with a coupon is very high. Quality is middle of the road, nothing amazing but also not bad at all.
The book arrived quickly which I appreciated. I think I would pass on making another with this app but did find it very easy to use.Show lesschristi27373

Hallo Christi, we automatically insert maps with the help of the location stored in your metadata. These maps you can then still edit - zoom in, zoom out, change the style, so they make most sense to you and have your preferred design too.
