  • Lots of trouble with app

It just lost all of my data. I refuse to backup to the cloud because I don’t trust my data in the cloud and now the app has no data in it. Very disappointed.
  • Attention Tech Support: Field Headings n other issues

As many, I have had subscriptions since the Palm Pilot days, was my favorite “app” then, and for a while on the newer platforms.
But it’s getting worse and worse, and I’m afraid soon “unacceptable”.
All the problems started with tinkering with the Icons! They started moving and changing on their own, then I had to replace them with the proper one manually. Sometimes nearly 30% of the entire database!
Now this problem, which still remains, seems to have gotten linked to a second problem, the Field Headings vanishing. My observations: all categories have their designated icon! If I build a new record and leave that icon, the headings stay, BUT, if I replace the category designated icon with another choice of icon, this record looses its headings!
Since I am very visual, and use icons frequently to scroll thru records (why else use icons) this is a major setback! The only way to keep the headings it to keep the main category icon! Not cool.

Maybe this helps the developers finally fix this issue! Thanks for listening, and please, reach out if you need a tester!

  • Urgh.. erased entire DB.. UNSATISFACTORY

Longtime user since palm pilot days. You have rarely let me down and a few times my own fault. Mostly updates fix things. The addition of online cloud back up and checking seemed to make things worse. But yesterday after an update wiped my entire database. And normally I would re sync with laptop but laptop also just got damaged and HD un recoverable. So. Long story short your app update wiped my phone db when I needed it most. Took a day of work to get new laptop and reinstall desktop app, load latest BU from there and re sync. All while on travel away from home. Way more painful and time consuming when your app update SHOULD NOT HAVE WIPED THE IPHONES EXISTING DB................... UNSATISFACTORY and time to look for a newer, better, more reliable solution. Lifetime subscription may be EOL now.

  • Unable to access data since update

I have just updated in the hope that it would eventually solve a long-standing problem (raised with SplashID) of a repeated warning that I have not saved my new entry whilst I am still trying to enter data. This forces me to abandon the whole entry, shut the app & reboot my iPad to try to continue.
Now, following the update, when I log in, all my entries are gobbledegook stopping me from accessing my data. On the bright side it is completely secure!
This used to be a good app, why is it getting worse? Time to move on?
    Still only 1 star.
One year on & no better. Still flashes up multiple rapid ‘Save’ warnings in the middle of data entering or editing. Am I alone in suffering this & why has it not been fixed?
I now regret my lifetime subscription.

  • Trustworthy app

I’ve been using this app for more than 6 years, since I discovered it and load it into my PalmPilot. It has been improved and is my main database tool for my needs. My only complaint is the overlapping of icons in the interface of my phone that makes difficult to pick the record from the list. The ui for the iPad and desktop computer is cleaner. Quite often some records corrupt and become inelegible and I have to restore from the backups.

  • Should be removed from the store.

I have been using SplashID since my palm days. And, I was happy when I transitioned to an iPhone that there was a version available through the AppStore.

But since about iOS10, it has been a bit wonky, and it seems that with every new iOS update, it gets wonkier.

I can not state how disappointing the app now is with resorting to profanity, but it has serious issues and has had for years. either the Developer needs to resolve the issues, or Apple should remove it from the AppStore.

Issues: The field headings disappear. This wouldn’t be a major issue, but my employer requires we maintain a record of old passwords for six months. I used to just add a field every month of the new password for that month, and keep the old fields, without headers, it became impossible to determine which field was the active one.

Second, it used to be that if you were in a field, and hit the generate button, it generated a new password in that field. Now it has decided to overwrite all the fields with the new password. So, you go in to set a password, and it overwrites all the fields in that record, including the user name, and all old passwords.

  • Great...well sort of

I’ve had SplashID since it’s earliest versions. It’s great - simple as others have written. But it seems in the latest updates the developers have crippled my original purchase such that I now have to pay for features which were previously free. I used to be able to export the secure database to an external file but now I have to pay for that. I mean Come on guys!
I paid for this feature which effectively cripples me from manually backing up my passwords - now you want me to pay for it when it was part of the software I purchased in earlier versions...not fair and doesn’t make me want to pay up for newer versions as who’s to know if you add or remove other features in favour of a paywall down the track.

Used to be great software - the best I thought, but now I just get spammed with “upgrade to SplashID pro” at every turn. Poor form.

  • Great app, confusing pricing

I have been using this app for nearly 12 years and it works great. I have had NO functional problems.
However, subscription service is wacky. I have purchased the lifetime support twice yet I still get billed annually???
I finally decided to just pay the $20/year and be appreciative that it works so well.
I think most of us just need a relatively simple and effective place to store sensitive data. All the bells and whistles are not terribly useful.
I wish they would offer a lower priced annual service without any feature upgrades, just guaranteed to work on each iOS version. That way there is guaranteed revenue for developer and guaranteed stability for consumer - win-win fir everyone!

  • Locked Out After Renewal Payment Was Made

I like SplashID and have used it for years. But, as happened last year, my renewal payment was made just before Christmas (they even sent me the receipt) and a week later I’m still being locked out from accessing my data, with a notice when I use the app saying ny subscription has expired.

They have had a year to sort the glitch out - presumably a lack of communication between their accounts section and the app subsriptions section - but haven’t bothered to fix this. Unless I get a guarantee and a refund for the week I have paid for when I have been unable to use the app, I’ll have to look for a more reliable app.

  • Looking for a better password management

I have been using this for more than 10 years. In general it works until you have no internet then you won't even able to open the app even though I disabled the cloud sync (only want to use this w/o the cloud). This problem makes me think that the SplashID will still store the data in the cloud, regardless the user preference.

Another problem is wifi synchronization. I have lots of issue eapecially if I want to re-write back to my iOS device. Checked everything and only works with my older (iphone 11) but did not work with my iphone 12.

Another problem happens when I delete a record. Nine out of ten the app simply "hangs" after I deleted ONE record. The only solution is to kill the app then re-opened for re-sign which is pretty annoying.

Also another occasional problem happens after I sign-in. The records were displayed randomly vs alphabetically. The situation makes it much harder to find a record thus I have to kill the app then re-login.

It feels that the app is aging, maybe not many developer assigned to fix these bugs anymore so overall it is quite disappointing.
