  • Bought a one lifetime upgrade offered on the basic SplashID but now a forced upgrade to Pro

I was offered one time upgrade for SplashID. Pro was upgraded without my consent and they are billing me $29 yearly on an upgrade that was not required. On top of it, my credit card had expired, so good first me, but Apple used another of my credit cards to pay. What a cluster f@$&.
  • Font problems

Can’t change the font and thus passwords are frequently messed up. E.g l = I But they are 2 different letters in either lower or upper case! Can’t believe this hasn’t been fixed.
  • Crashes Often

I bought this app when I got my 3G iPhone (yes that was a while ago). Had used another app for my Treo (Palm OS) and was not available in IOS. Loved the app for many years as it is available on web page, IOS, iPad OS, Windows app (always a way to get to your passwords and critical information), Butttttt last two years it has crashed on me at least three times per day, and more. Crashes when it doesn’t not get a good cell or data signal or (on Windows app) left running while you go to another window. Please fix my favorite app from crashing and from reassigning custom field names and you will get five stars from me . . .

  • It freezes, and upgrade to Pro isn’t working

I’ve been using the free version for 3-4 years now, and have been delighted with how well it protects my info. The last few months, however, the app is starting to act up. Sometimes after it opens, it freezes and no matter how often I tap “edit” or “copy” for a field, it won’t work. And it won’t let me add any new records. Then a few weeks ago I upgraded to the Pro version and it charged my credit card, but nothing changed on the app—I don’t have any functional features that are supposed to come with the Pro version. It’s still the free version.

  • SplashID ought to stick with Windows

iPadOS 13.3: application either locks immediately after entering password or stays open for maybe 10sec if you’re lucky

iOS 13.3: application locks immediately on first attempt, stays open (mostly) after 2nd attempt

    Problems have existed for months
  • It gets the job done but cross platform is hampered

I have been a long time SplashID user. I mainly stick with it because I have a lifetime Pro subscription that they continue to honor. On all platforms their apps get the job done, but that is about it. The user interface is not very good and at times the apps tend to crash. For me a big must have is that it works across my platforms (mainly iOS and Mac, but Windoze too). If this is important to you, please note their Mac app is not properly signed so the Mac Gatekeeper rejects it. There is a work around, but on my work Mac that work around is locked down, so I cannot run the native app. This is been the case for a LONG time on the Mac and it is acceptable that they do not properly sign or certify their Mac app.

  • Meh

I mean I use this everyday but there has to be a better app. Biggest issue is the risk of jumbling and loss of your data. The main way this seems to occur is if you are in the middle of editing a password file and don’t save it by clicking save, if the app closes due to an auto lock in the middle of your edit, the entire password file you are working on gets encrypted and your data is lost! It’s there but jumbled and useless. So use this at your risk. You just need to get used to saving quickly. Also, the change icon function seems to not work anymore. You can select edit the icon and select a new icon but then there is no way to actually save it it appears. At least in current version. Also all my fields were encrypted sometime back somehow and replaced with encrypted gibberish and there seems to be no way to fix this so I just live with it. Not sure why I don’t change apps. I guess the developers don’t use their own app. Wonder what they use....

  • Bugs on latest version

Long time user but there seems to be bugs with latest version on iPhone. When adding a credit card record it asks you to scan and then it freezes. Same if you try to change icon. Also there is no Save changes button anymore, you have to go back and it asks you if you want to discard or save the changes.

Finally a long standing annoyance on iPhone is the fact that if you have more than 3 lines of notes (at the bottom) in your record you cannot edit them.

  • Poor, now.

Been using previous versions for years.

It tries to open, hangs then crashes if Sync can’t happen because net isn’t available. Infuriating if you need a password in a hurry, you have to turn off Wi-fi and go into flight mode to get at your data,!
  • Great product + honest customer service

I’ve been using SplashID Safe on multiple devices for several years and have been very pleased with the product. Life is full for all of us and this certainly makes things easier! What really impressed me recently is their customer service… they identified that I had accidentally been paying for an annual subscription even though I had purchased a lifetime subscription several years ago. Without prompting, they refunded all the fees and corrected the situation. I probably would not have known about the overpayment and believe this shows a lot of integrity on their part for identifying and rectifying the situation. I definitely recommend simplifying your life with this product!
