Payment method is quirky

Overall the app works well. I use it three times per week at a Boston area MBTA station. The minor annoyance is the payment system. I pay using a pre-tax commuter parking benefit card. When there is not enough balance, it correctly rejects the card. But when I select another card on file, such as a regular credit card, it rejects that one too. It does not accept payment unless you add a new card from scratch. I. Other words, it keeps rejecting payment until a new card is added, even if you delete a valid card on file and reenter the same one. Also, it does not allow you to edit a card and enter a new expiration date; you must delete and reenter.

Seamless

This app is extremely user friendly, and after the initial setup , is easy to navigate. It will tell you if you exited the app before your transaction was completed.. handy. Just wish there was some feature that could help find a vacant spot to park, like when someone leaves their spot. I drive a full size big pickup truck, and even though I am a master parallel Parker, it still takes about an acre to completely turn around. Something that would figure in the size of your vehicle, and match you to a parking space that fits. But closes-ish to your intended destination.

Rip off

Developers removed my review and sent me to a virtual assistant that does not help in any way... Not a great start... The car park apps prices did not match those on the machine that was conveniently broken. You are forced to then use the app and pay the higher price. What an absolute rip off. I am happy to report this issue but please give me an email address or something. Your virtual chat has no option for this problem - which I feel is very convenient for you. Edit: I talked to your support and they were not very helpful. Probably because I uncovered your micro-scam. Edit again: still unresolved. This company cares about one thing and that is taking your money!

Update again: 3 months on and this company is still totally ignoring me. They are outright scamming customers under the excuse of it being someone else's responsibility. Yet they are happy to take your money in the process. I am in discussions with the council about this but who knows how long that will take...

Screwed Up My Phone

The parking meter at the local hospital wasn’t working so I was forced to download this app to avoid being ticketed. The gentleman behind me in line did warn me he had issues with this app but I didn’t have any choice. It was either use the app or get ticketed. The minute I loaded the app and paid for my parking, my phone started acting up. It was freezing up, my camera stopped working, my phone kept shutting down. I deleted the app as soon as I was done with it but the issues continue. There is no question it was this app. I don’t know what it’s done but my phone is messed up.

Location sensor terrible

If I didn’t have to use this company, I so wouldn’t but when it is the only option to pay for parking you don’t have a choice….. it locates your position and tells you the number you are at but this has the potential to be wildly inaccurate and could mean you are paying to park somewhere else (close but not where you think you are) and this results in you being fined. This has just happened to me, I paid for 2 hours parking and stayed for 1h 36mins. But now I have a £100 fine.
Furthermore, it is impossible to speak to anyone if you want assistance in proving you were not evading payment. Just an equally as disappointing virtual assistant.
The problem is, if there wasn’t a location sensor, you would have no option but to search for the correct place and I would have rather this have been the case…….
Always check yourself as the time saving technology is a costly let down.

PayByPhone for parking freedom

Love this App, takes all the headache out of getting back to the car on time. For new users make sure you see the a confirmation before closing the app, and that your phone sound is enabled so that you will hear the ten minutes left to renew. Also before leaving the car check the parking time limit… .parking cant be extended beyond the zone limit displayed so if you havent checked that and can’t get back in time, you may get a ticket. Also, the app relies on an internet connection to use it plus a decent signal - I can rarely get a signal inside a carpark, I pay as soon as I walk outside.

Never managed to get it to work

Not intuitive and didn’t show most of the parking stations I was looking for, even though they had signs to use Ringo. Save yourself time and frustration by having change on hand (usually no notes).
