  • Glitches

    (1) We can't add travel companions in a dedicated tab before embarkation, as provided in the old app. How can we locate them on board using the app if we can't first add them in the app? We want to be able to add our travel companions before we board as in the old app by adding their booking numbers (Travel Companions under JourneyView). Please restore this function. (2) In order to see other cruises we've booked besides the one nearest in time, we're forced to log out and log back in again using those booking numbers. Viewing our future cruises has become a more cumbersome process than it needs to be. We should be able to log in once with our Princess credentials and then move freely among our various future bookings. The old app originally had tabs with future cruise dates that could be selected located under My Profile. Please restore this function. (3) There appears to be a lot of repetition in the app - for several functions there are multiple ways of accessing them. I fail to see the need for this. One function, one tab. Keep it simple.
UPDATE: when are you going to address these oversights in your new app (especially the first two deficiencies)? We're waiting!
  • Horrible App

Boarded a cruise using the old app. Was very difficult to scroll. It’s like a delayed scroll so when you go to scroll again your thumb hits a selection and you have to start all over again. Shipmate tracking is okay but the shipmate chat is horrible. Don’t see notifications unless in app. No time stamp on texts. We updated to the new app in port. It was horrible. They put the crew chat on the front screen when it would be better to put the shipmate chat with your family on the opening screen. Family chat didn’t work and we had to redownload the old app to chat with family. It needs to get better. Takes forever to load while on the medallion network. There are no other options for apps so you get what you get.
  • Can only login with booking number

New app. Works better than old however when you have multiple cruises booked you can not login with user name and password the same way as the web site. Says invalid user name and password. If you login with just one booking number works.
Designed for iPhone. Scale up for iPad.
  • New app requiring off shore charge card info to be green lane is absurd!

Have upcoming cruise. In old app all is fine and both me and my wife are green lane. In new app my wife is still green lane and I’m blue lane until I input charge card info for off shore purchases through Radiqal (3rd party provider). This has NEVER been a requirement with Princess. BAD decision by Princess marketers. I will NOT provide charge card info to 3rd party LLC company. Straighten up your act Princess. You’ve been better than this!!!!
  • Not scaled for iPad, not ready for Prime Time

I only downloaded the new version on my iPad as I’m embarking within a week and don’t want issues when I know how to maneuver in the old app on my iPhone. The app doesn’t fill the screen on the iPad making it look amateurish. The app is okay- like the journey view improvements and ability to book specialty dining. However, very frustrating to have no ability to see all my booked cruises as I can in the old app. Perhaps a “where is” tab with details of where to find things would be helpful to those of us who are very well versed in finding our way around the old app.

It also incorrectly identifies me as “new to princess” when I’ve been on 40 cruises with Princess.

  • This App Is Nothing But a Brochure

The old app showcased what you’ve purchased, what you’ve accomplished, what you have to look forward to. This new joke of an app doesn’t even show you the itinerary. It tells you the name of the ship and how many days to embarkation. The rest of the space is just filled with what you still haven’t bought from them yet. And if you want to see your itinerary all you have is a chronological day-by-day list that you have to scroll through like I’m some kind of lab mo key. This app is not about me, or my excitement, or the journey. It’s a brochure about how I could be making Princess Cruises more profitable.
  • Charged for dinner reservations

I received (2) complementary dinner reservations with the package I purchased. I made reservations via the new app and was charged $148. I have tried to reach out to princess waited 20 minutes but cannot get good customer service. When I go into the old app, it still shows I have (2) complementary dinner reservations. Very frustrating. Will decline charges to my credit card since I cannot get resolution.
  • Can’t switch between future cruises

Can’t switch between booked cruises in the future like the prior App to get OceanReady for them.

Where’s our incentive for beta testing this new app. There are more clicks needed to do basic task on the prior App like ship layout. Additional missing functions that prior App has like switching between booked cruise; manage/add/communicate with Travel Companions; View/Download My Photos.
  • Better

More intuitive than the previous app. I still had a little difficulty finding my dining reservations. I had to remember where they were to find them. I prefer the ship diagrams on the earlier app.
