  • Horrible App

    This app is SO BAD that I regret buying a BlackVue camera.

    Every time you open it it tries to sell you a subscription.

    It tries to force you to create an account where they collect your private information for resale.

    Also the camera is one if their best but still sucks. It won’t do basic things like remember settings like keeping the wifi off until I turn it on.

    Then it yells at me every 10 seconds that “wifi is already in use”.

    Trash.

  • Cannot see the recording using Wi-Fi

    This time the update sucks, I cannot see all the videos, only the live view is functioning. So what if there’s something happened and I need to download the video instantly? The only way right now is unplug the micro SD card and plug into computer, this is ridiculous! BlackVue has really good quality in cameras but the software really sucks!!! Fix it ASAP!

  • Illegal sign in requirement

    I purchased my BlackVue camera several years ago and have been able to use the app to view recordings up until a few days ago. The app has recently had a major update which now requires you to submit personal details to register an account.
    Signing up to an account was not a condition at the time of purchase. Pitasoft have altered their service which effectively renders the device inoperable for those not willing to provide personal details.
    This practice is illegal in several countries, including New Zealand and I would expect Pitasoft to be rectifying this in the very near future to avoid litigation.

  • Ruined App with update

    Used to be good, now have to make a account to use the camera, also have to pay a subscription if you want to use more than one camera. Will be returning the camera I just bought for my other car and using a different brand.
  • Requires cloud account for local connection

    Used to allow you to connect directly to the camera using wifi when you opened the app. You now need to create a cloud account and login to that before it will allow you to connect directly to the camera using wifi.

    Absurd that a cloud account is required for direct access as this means that when you don’t have internet access (I.e no cellular reception) you are unable to download footage.

    Also take care to read the fine print around what the developer does with the location information that gets collected against the account you are forced to create. They won’t let you opt out on the registration screen.

    Complete toss fest. Look for another brand.

  • If it’s not broken don’t fix it

    New update sucks, you need data/internet connection to even open the app. And now I cannot figure out how to get the video off of the app easily onto my phone, before it was easy. Now what if the app becomes corrupted? I lose the evidence. Plus this stupid app took 4/5 times to log in when I was putting the correct username and password in. Great hardware, but your app is needs to be more user friendly. And no, I do not want to subscribe to your monthly cloud service. Stop asking me every time I want to veiw my footage, if I want your subscription then I’ll do it without it constantly reminding me.

    App forces me to create an account now even though I have no cloud functions or need. Complete garbage.

  • App is fine… just use SD card and not cloud

    I was expecting this app the be so awful based on the reviews, but it’s not. It could have more customization and a better interface for non technical people but it’s fine for the most part. — Most of the complaints are related to connection issues or problems with the cloud. 1) I haven’t had any connection issues. I can connect to camera and download easily every time. 2) Cloud probably shouldn’t be offered on a product like this (yet). Anyone that has experience with IP cameras can tell you there is no really good cloud experience or apps, even for hardwired home cameras like nest, wyze, etc.. I would never expect a wireless Dashcam to offer perfect cloud reliability. SD cards are extremely durable and everyone should use that until the tech is perfected.

  • No notification

    It’s very good dash camera. If you using the cloud feature there is nothing like that in other dash cameras. The problem with the IOS app (for years with no fix) it’s every time that you restore your iPhone from a backup, you won’t get notifications working again. When you call the support they telling you to just delete the app and reinstall. The problem is that when you delete the BlackVue app, you losing all your saved videos. I keep calling their support over the years but nothing has been fixed so far. Same problem even before the new app design.
