Eternal suffering at the hands of the Portillo’s app
I just spent like 4 hours in the Illinois Holocaust Museum and I’m so hungry but unfortunately the Portillo’s app had other plans and it decided I was going to starve and it keeps giving me an error even though all my credit card info is correct. There isn’t even anywhere else I can go because I’m on a school field trip. I’m hoping this review bumps this awful app down to 1.5 stars because it’s truly awful. Default options in app
I’m so annoyed. I went to order in-app so that I could grab food quickly on lunch, but apparently the default option for a burger on the app is a double. I’m sorry- what? I forgot people even eat doubles, that’s so much food and just so unnecessary. When you’re in store at the counter and you ask for a burger, they order you a single unless you specifically ask for a double, so why would it default to a double on the app? That sounds like such a scam for more money. If somebody wants a double, they’ll make sure it is one. But people who just want a regular burger are going to assume they’re ordering a standard single when they click the default burger. So, not knowing it put the order in as a double, I paid almost twice as much for a patty I didn’t even eat. I tried calling the location three times to ask to adjust the order and every single time it just hung up on me, nobody answered, and I ended up having to pickup a pricey order that I didn’t want but didn’t have time to go up to the counter and wait for a new one. Really annoyed with the app layout that just made my lunch so much more complicated and frustrating than it needed to be.Show lessdarlatee
Fast and yummy
Waited for all the excitement to die down to go to the Allen Texas location. Sometimes your eyes are bigger then your stomach. Our food was hot, fresh and fast. Even brought home to eat. Although it was on the pricey side….i will get smaller portions next time because it fills you up fast. Might try the bowls instead. Not complaints. Seriously worth a try.Show lessjcorta17
The menu ordering is terrible
Ordering from this menu is limited they act like they deliver. They don’t it defaults back to pick up and now I’m stuck going to pick the food up when I want to delivery when you call the city cannot cancel third parties handle the deliveries like Uber eats GrubHub. It should show that on the app before you order any food and before they take your money deceptive practice at best.Show lessvickpeepsit

Portillo’s is definitely one of my favorite restaurants of all time! I don’t live close to one, but if I pass it, I definitely have to go there. their Italian beef is so good I cannot pass it up. I would pay millions of dollars for that sandwich if my life was on the line.

App update
They have a location in The Colony Texas… It’s unavailable for delivery or pick up orders. But it’s just as well just to go and get the order standing in a 35 to 60 minute wait in line to get your food. The food is OK… And for the most part if they get the order correct. It’s been seven out of eight visits disappointing. The first visit got the order right. But it was basic. Sandwich drink and a dessert. But when you give them a detailed order, they always miss some thing. Then you got to go up and ask them for the right thing. Then they act like you made a mistake, when the mistake was theirs. The line order manager needs to get her attitude leveled. If you’re going there for the Chicago style hotdog… You can get the same or better at sonic.Show lessG – spot
One of my favorites
I love Portillo’s!!!! I have been visiting since the early 1990’s and i tried just about everything on the menu. One of my favorite staples is the Onion Rings. This Fishers location has not found the right formula, as they are usually overcooked.Landlocked317
worst implementation ever. i blame Punchh developers
this is the worst app ever. I don’t know who developed this or wrote the specs for it, but it is ridiculous. talk about overuse of CAPTCHA. I forgot my password so after I checked my email to reset the password and the confirmation page just takes me to setting up another password…that’s the password changed confirmation page! Omg!!

Hope the food is better than the app
What a buggy mess. The app insists on entry of your location even if you are picking it up, and it won’t let you proceed if you are “too far” away… for pick up! No way to contact them thru the website or app unless your issue fits their canned definitions. Can’t even find out what a sandwich costs.
Update: still a buggy mess months later. App still doesn't know there is now a dallas area location 6 months after that location opened.

Horrible food app
Let’s start with, you can’t create an account without letting them sell your info to other vendors. There is no overall menu unless you start an order, and then it’s limited. I’ll eat somewhere else before I waste my time here. I hear the restaurant is good and so is the food, but this app is more trouble than it’s worth.Show lessShadytunes1
