  • Far from what is advertised

    I purchased the Moen U for its ability to be controlled with the app. The best I could achieve was it being added to MyHome. All I can do it turn it on or off using My Home.
  • App works but Alexa integration is very poor

    Making the presets in the app is easy and they work great. I’m heavily into smart home integration with Alexa and Alexa routines. I was able to get one preset to work with Alexa. I can say “start R*****n’s Shower” and it starts both heads I have connected at the preset temp just like I want. The second preset I cannot get to work at all. Accept for that one preset that works, it defaults to turning on one shower head at 100degs. This happens outside the presets as well. Even if you ask Alexa “tell moen to turn on the shower to 107 degrees”. It looks like you can try to add the smart home device to an Alexa routine and select the heads and temp you want directly in the Alexa app without a mownpreset. it doesn’t seem to recognize those settings at all and you get the default one head at 100. Hoping the Moen team can teach this thing learn to talk to Alexa a bit better. I tried every command moen tells you to use and it’s always one head at 100deg but for that first preset.

  • App used to work

    We have had the Moen smart shower for about a year now and love the product. The app used to work to turn the shower on and off and change the settings but about a month ago it just stopped working. The app and shower are on the same WiFi network and the app behaves as if it is turning the shower on but the two are not communicating.

Please perform a soft reset on your U by Moen controller by pressing and holding the power button on the main blue raindrop screen for 5-10 seconds until the screen is black.   • Valve is wonderful, the app is not

    If you are using the app on your smartphone and leave the screen for any reason, you will no longer be able to operate the valve with your phone. So, what’s the point
  • Alexa commands do not work when temperature unit is set to Celsius

    If the temperature unit is set to Celsius, the user is unable to set the shower temperature via Alexa voice commands. Temperature setting via Alexa only works when the shower controller is set in Fahrenheit.

  • Non-functioning in the iPad

    So this controller worked fine with the app for a couple years. Then they updated controller app and now the only way to get it to sync is to run in through Apple home. I just wanted control through the app! So the app on the iPhone worked after reinstalling everything and connecting through Apple home, but the iPad app still does not work. It thinks it is connected and sending commands, but it is not. I tried deleting the app, and it disappears. Reinstalled and it is already logged in so I know it did not remove. Deleted, restarted iPad and now there is a a broken app icon in its place. Cant redownload the app because Apple store senses it is still there. Multiple cycles of this all result in the same thing. For an app that says it is iPad compatible, this is frustrating as my phone does not sit by my bed but the iPad does. Trying to start the shower from bed is now impossible. Ugh, So frustrating.

  • Horrible App

    The shower was working fine until I paired it to the app. Now four button controller touchscreen looks like it only has two outlets, and nothing works - no water!

    Horrible setup took multiple tries. Finally it connected the app to the wall controller, and the controller then “upgraded” itself to new Firmware but apparently chose the wrong version.

    It is a four button system but only two outlets show on the touchscreen.

    And it says “shower is paused,” but pushing the buttons on the controller do not unpause it.

  • Ok, but . . .

    Agree with other reviews. It’s 2021. I’d expect more integration with HomeKit and internet. It does what it says, but very basic. Ideas for home screen: customized backgrounds, current weather and forecasts, days schedule, ability to read texts or emails, volume for music, etc. Too late for me but a microphone to access Siri would have been nice.

  • Worst 700 spent

    Worked perfectly, they updated the app constant signal loss. Repeater behind wall, still having issues. Reset shower module, now apple HomeKit won’t connect, unit constantly restarts and freezes. Definitely regretting the 700 plus I spent on this shower.
  • Works

    Just working on installing this but so far seems responsive. Wish there was a setting to turn off the annoying on sound the device plays.
