Long lines but never disappoints
Always mobile order and pick up at the drive through. Order is always accurate and they are one of the only fast food places that didn’t hike up their prices much over the last few years
Food Items Missing
There’s several food items that Del Taco still makes that are missing from the app ever since the last update. To name a few; Crunchtadas, the 3 Layer Queso Nachos and I’m sure there’s even more, but they stand out the most because they actually advertise them on the app itself.
It’s pretty sad because there is convenience in making your order online. It’s easy to choose what you want and have a decent amount of customization at your fingertips. You even get to choose how you want to get it, whether it be delivery, drive-thru or pickup in the restaurant.
That’s the reason that this review is 2 instead of 1 because it does have the potential to be a good app.
It’s just that when you don’t have all the items there, it pretty much loses the whole purpose of why a fast food app is made; The ability to get the food you want at your own convenience. If some of your favorite food items aren’t there, then what’s the point?

I just want to order food!
I bought this app to order Del Taco. It does that and works well. But my god man, it’s annoying. Stop pushing the rewards thing SO hard. Stop opting me in for sms messages. Stop sending promotional notifications, it makes your app so much worse.
Notifications are helpful when you place an order. But it’s all or nothing. I’d like to opt out of promotions but stay opted in for order notifications because that is useful. I have to keep notifications turned off if I don’t want regular promotional pushes. Who wants that??

App replaced intrinsic passive coupons with reward points
They change and overhauled the app and it’s worse than if ever was. What I liked about it was simply the coupons and offers it always had. They weren’t consistent but I looked forward to a BOGO item for lunch or reduced cost item. They have done away with that. Now it’s a rewards program with the same offer. Before the change you intrinsically received passive offers but now you have to spend $50 to get a single BOGO and because of that I severely reduced my visits to Del Taco. What they replaced and changed for the app is worse off for you.

DEL TACO APP WAS RUINED.
The Del Taco app used to be one of the best fast food apps that existed, now it’s WORTHLESS. There are hardly ANY offers, the “rewards” points take forever to accumulate and even when you get enough you basically get an item off dollar menu. From what I can gather (since it’s hard to understand and I still haven’t even earned a reward) if you spend $25 you get enough points for a $1 item. What a GREAT deal! Oh, and the icing on the cake is that it won’t ever save my payment method for my next order! Seriously, whoever developed this new app should be FIRED immediately and the old app should be reinstated. END OF STORY!

Redesign Fail
The app used to offer decent deals on a regular basis, now they are nearly non-existent. A deal then has to be “saved” first prior to using, then warned you will have a limited time to use it… but doesn’t tell you how much time… 5 mins?? An hour?? A day?? Of course once you commit to saving it, you can’t change your mind… who knows if it will expire before you can actually use it. My god, just let me tap on a deal and use it! Because of this poorly redesigned app, I rarely order from Del Taco anymore. And where is the “Free Coffee Every Day” offer as shown in the App Store photos?? I have never seen that. Ever. Time to go back to the paper coupons in the mail.

Won't even open
I am giving this app one star because of one simple reason: the app won't even open. I have an iPhone 12 Pro with all the newest IOS and app updates and location active. Yet when I open the app and try to sign up, it takes me to the "Choose your local store" but never finds anything. Because of this, I can't use the app.
As I said, I okayed the app to use the location, and everything is up to date. It isn't a service coverage issue, as it even fails to do anything when I have my phone connected to the internet. Really disappointed.

Horrible app and service
Previous app and rewards program was much better. No longer have coupons nor rewards I can use. If you have food allergies or are vegan there are no longer rewards or coupons that work. Staff in stores are frustrated and do not like the app. Scan codes don’t seem to scan so I have to read numbers to them to receive points, which only works part of the time. I sent a complaint to customer service along with several friends and we all receive canned replies. Del Taco appears to no longer care about their customers. After being a devoted Del Taco customer for 40+ years, it is time to move on to better programs and a company that cares and listens to their customers.

New update, no offers
They say it’s working as expected, but their new rewards program after their newest update is disappointing. It used to have 4-5 offers every day, including a few I loved to count on, like a BOGO bean and cheese burrito and ones involving the egg cheese toasted wrap. All gone, no longer. Now we are lucky to get one a day, and it usually is not something I like. When it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. You did, and now it’s broke.

They fixed the login issue!
I guess they fixed whatever was going on with their account system. Put my email in and I actually got a reset email this time and was able to access the app as expected. Looks great. Haven’t tried ordering yet but the app ux is less clunky and feels smoother overall. Things aren’t buried behind menus and stuff. So far so good.
