  • Most awful experience

When trying to update contact information it would not allow me to correct my phone number. It kept saying something to the effect that the format I entered was not correct. They did not tell you the correct 10 digit format. After trying every possible 10 digit format I had to cancel my changes and move on. After moving on, I could not go back to previous screens in the claim.
  • Safeco documentation

Safeco app is not getting all my driving trips for some reason and the time recorded seems shorter than actual time driving.
Total trips and total miles are also not accurate due to not documenting all my trips.
It does seem to be documenting my husbands trips correctly.
  • RightTrack function is horrible

If you drive in any sort of traffic you’ll get dinged for “hard braking” simply for being a good defensive driver. If your car has any kind of automatic collision prevention where it’ll automatically apply the brakes, prepare for “hard braking” to be put on you by the app. As a matter of fact, I’m not sure that Safeco gives any credit for collision prevention systems in cars….maybe I should disable the system so I can brake to Safeco’s liking. Oh…and Safeco’s evaluation of your driving through the RightTrack app is 120 days….ONE THIRD of the year!

Have to accelerate onto the interstate and have a short “on ramp”? You’ll get dinged for hard acceleration. Grabby brakes? Touchy clutch? Yep…you’ll get dinged. Never mind that you’ve avoided accidents this entire time…

My advice: if you have to use the app, put it on a separate device, do the minimum number of miles, and then put that device away until the 120 days expires. Or find another insurance company. As it is I’m only slated to save $120/year…i’d gladly give that to another company that doesn’t need me to drive their app.
  • Too sensitive!

I am a grandmother of two and drive a HYBRID Honda that basically drives like a slow lawnmower! I drive like a grandmother. I’ve driven almost 100 miles in the past couple of days of using the app. I have all excellent ratings except for 1 “hard brake” that I was not even aware happened because I had no incidents of needing to brake hard. Now my overall rating on soft braking is “good” instead of “excellent”. The app is detecting the braking way too sensitively. The app may end up making me move to a different insurance company. I’m 50 years old and haven’t had a ticket or wreck in 20 years or more. I’m an extremely safe driver and don’t appreciate the app dropping my overall rating due to 1 false “hard” brake.
  • Pretty good app for insurance

It allows you to review things quickly. Unfortunately it’s not as complete as one would wish. Some policy details or changes remain hard to make or not possible to do in the app. Still it is better than most insurance apps I’ve used.
  • Hard breaking at stop signs?

Called SafeCo and was advised that your phone needs to be 100% secure/steady in the car because it’s the actual phone that is being tracked and not really how you are driving. So any sliding or movement of the actual phone can affect your “score”. We use Life360 and have been using it for years. It has better software that actually tracks how you are driving…even tells me when my teens are using their phones while driving! Maybe you should contact them to see how to improve your software!
  • Meh

It’s an ok insurance company, not too expensive. My only complaint is I tried to get an special quote because I’ll be storing my car since I’m going to military Boot Camp. First I called a representative in Spanish and she said they didn’t do that (I notice a lack of knowledge so I decided to call again to an English representative). This other one said o could do it but I had to get a document through DMV and call again. Definitely something o won’t do since I’m leaving tomorrow and even if I had time I find it unnecessary. I know there’re others insurance companies that make things easier for costumers. I’ll definitely get different company when I have the chance.
  • CJ Ledbetter of AMFIG and Seascape Insurance is Wonderful!!!

I have been with another insurance company loyally for years. However, when I moved and suddenly was going to have to pay almost $300/mo I knew I needed a different insurance company! CJ Ledbetter of AMFIG/Seascape Insurance helped me find the lowest and best rate at less than $100/mo with better coverage! Safeco might even have a client for life. I will try update in six months when I have experienced being insured by them longer. I 💯 recommend checking to be sure you are receiving the BEST rate even if your ins company considers you a “valuable or gold membership “ apparently they don’t!
  • App

The app for the most part is easy however I would prefer to pay the entire bill instead of what is due at a minimum and select a date a few days prior to the due date and not when entered. Paying the minimum due will cost an additional clerical cost per payment. I may just go back to pay by mail.
  • This is how an insurance app should be

Viewing your policy information and billing information is very clear and well explained. Coming from progressive this app is miles ahead with how easy and pleasant it is to use. Progressive needs to learn from these folks.
