  • Needs big time performance updates

    The purpose of the app is to track your treatment progress. Specifically when it comes to using the ‘hyper bite’ tool thats meant to be used daily. Meaning, they expect you to use the Byte App daily to indicate & track that you are using it daily as directed. The problem is, it rarely ever registers correctly when you’re trying to indicate that it has been used. In actuality, the ‘hyper bite’ tool is supposed to sync with the app, but it’s almost impossible to get it to connect to the app through Bluetooth like it’s supposed to, let alone stay connected. it does allow you to indicate manually that you used it but immediately after you’ve indicated it, it disappears and ask you again, “ have you use your hyper bite today?” Like YES!!! I’ve indicated it like 2 to 3 times times and it still doesn’t register until like the fourth time. And sometimes that even do the trick, most times you actually have to swipe out of the app and go back in for it to properly register your response. It’s actually very FRUSTRATING. Especially when the tracking function makes up for 85% of the entire purpose of the app.

  • App stopped responding mid treatment

    This app is supposed to allow me to track my treatment and let it know what week I’m on and what days I switch my aligners. It has stopped doing that I get all the way done with the check in and then the all crashes and doesn’t allow me to submit or update any information so i am completely on my own doing this out of my own memory of what week I’m on and what day to switch. I reached out to support and they said to update my app which it does need it is fully updated!! So frustrating u pay so much for the treatment and the app doesn’t help u at all if you do it thru ur dentist at least ur able to check up with a real person that doesn’t just crash everytime you try, literally ruined half the convenience

  • Any drop box won’t work

    The app is good until you need to conduct a check-in or switch Aligners. I thought it was a problem on my end, frustratingly deleting and re-installing the app multiple times, downloading it onto another device and it is the same problem.. no drop box will work. I can’t check in, I can’t update my Aligners process.. nothing works besides being to update hyperbyte. I have had to go through support to update my progression and check in. I’m glad it finally dawned on me to read the most recent reviews and save my sanity lol. Support works and has been friendly and helpful but it’s really bothersome to have to constantly email back and fourth

  • Great program, lackluster app

    I love the Byte program and how easy it is to get straighter teeth at home... but the app does more to hinder than help. Since the last update, I'm not able to complete check-ins or enter transitions to new trays. The buttons simply don't do anything. Syncing HyperByte is also a persistent problem. The sync doesn't always capture my use for the day, so I manually update. But when I manually update, usually the day or two prior will also update and no longer show that I used for those days. The result is that I've used HyperByte every single day for 12 weeks but my longest use streak is only 13 days. It's a small, silly thing but my small, silly brain thrives on that kind of thing.

  • Some Annoying Bugs

    The apps is good enough but it has some annoying bugs:
    1. It randomly changed my aligned switch day from Saturday to Friday.
    2. It skipped an aligned switch so the app is 1 step behind schedule.
    3. It loses track of the days I’ve used the hyperbyte.
    4. It doesn’t let me do my check in until the day after it’s due.

  • Service didn’t work, no resolution

    To rate the app only would be positive. It runs well. Good content. Good flow of information.

    To rate the service is different. My personal results were poor. Indeed, following the entire program with multiple repeats, I ended up with zero correction. Each step interfered with my natural good overbite. But seldom did any step close the one gap intended.

    Their service was very responsive. Multiple clinicians were available. Many reviews. Yet each review asked for new pics and restarted the same conversation instead of building on previous chats and pics. And when the final result failed, and I stayed with the program until the last guide was worn out, no resolution. I can’t get my final retainer unless I agree the results were good; which I can’t.

    Kept asking for the same pics with each request.

    Finally offered new stuff for a new fee. I’m trying to use previous guides to gain some correction but ultimately I have no improvement after a year. At least my natural overbite returned because that was a negative outcome in several guides.

    I support their back office and intent of great responses. But responsiveness looses credibility without success. I’d suggest trying a competitor.

  • Not thrilled with the process

    So I’ve been on this system for going on 18 weeks. My progress was halted at 15 weeks. I went to order my remaining aligners and was told I had to “backtrack”. I was never told backtracking was a possibility or I would have kept better track or all my previous aligners. My backtracking needed was noted way too late and this wasted many weeks. I’m on step 15. And am being instructed to go back as far as step 8? So 7 weeks of progress regressing and I don’t have 3 sets in that timeframe. I’ve been passed around for 3 weeks with no progress so far. I feel like I wasted two thousand dollars and now I’m stuck in limbo.

    The app is ok but doesn’t add much value to the overall product. The downsides for me are as follows:
    1) The Bluetooth connection to the tooth vibrator thing rarely works.
    2) You don’t get a pre-notice when your next retainer check-in will be.
    3) Along with #2, if you don’t get a notice when your next check-in will be sometimes you won’t be prepared for the 3 or 4-day check-in period. For example, when I’m traveling I’ve missed both of the check-ins due to work-related stuff. Plus you can’t go back and check-in after that period ends, thus making check-ins for me useless up until this time.
    The upsides of the app…I can’t think of any now.

  • App glitches

    I’m about halfway through my treatment and so far the aligners seem to be working pretty well. I have a big issue with the My HyperByte tracker though. I am very good about using the HyperByte but not as good about logging it. Every time I try to log the usage a day late, it will unselect the day that I’m trying to report and the day before. This has happened on multiple occasions and since you can only see the week you’re on, sometimes it pushes it back past where you can edit. I’d like to be able to log my usage late without penalty and see more than the past 7 days.
