  • Great app!

I enjoy this app a lot for making an appointment in a pinch. A while ago my parents dog got hurt, nothing deadly (thankfully). But it was dire to me. He got a scratch on his eye. I quickly checked all the local Banfield’s on the app near me and got an appointment for that following afternoon. Using the Banfield app I was able to schedule this appointment and leave notes for the vet techs and vets to see before we arrived. I like how the app abled me to see multiple Banfield’s in my area to see who availability would have to see us soonest. All the staff was super friendly and helpful in treating our pup. And we were easily able to book his follow up appointment, which I was easily able to check on the app. This app is super easy to use and clear I will definitely recommend it to my friends and family who struggle with keeping their pet’s vaccine dates and such scheduled to date.

Thank you so much for your feedback. Glad to hear the app is so helpful!
  • Good Service, Horrible app! Don’t judge the service based on the horrible app.

I’ve been going to Banfield from almost 14 years. Over the years I’ve been very happy with them. I have watched this app go through revisions and changes. Unfortunately still 90% of the activities you need to do will require calling your local Banfield because it cannot be done on the app even though they tell you it can.

The most useful feature of this app is the chat, but you need to understand the people chatting with you are not at your local Banfield and cannot do anything to assist your local Banfield. this is very helpful after hours, however also commonly ends in advice to call your local Banfield.

The scheduling feature is incredibly hard to use, it also does not let you select the doctor until you select the time. So if you’re trying to find a time with your doctor, you’ll have to check each day by day until you find them on the schedule with an available opening which will probably be 3-4 weeks out. It’s also very hard to actually select the appointment time to even allow the app to move forward in the scheduling process. These issues shouldn’t be that hard to solve. I hope Banfield can figure this out.

Once again, I’m very happy with my Banfield doctor and the Banfield service. This app seems to be below par and needs to be looked at from a customers point of view.

  • Loving the easy but wish for a few upgrades.

I love the easy of scheduling an appointment - both for exams, and illness/injury. I do wish they could give you automatic alternatives when your current office is has no availability. I have to use the back arrow to click for other offices appointment times and some times required me to start from the beginning. I do like that you can still look for next available of the current office. What I found most AMAZING is the chat with the vet part of the app. Getting my concerns answered quickly is a time saver as opposed to calling the office and hoping someone picks up. Another time saver is they will tell me when it's not necessary to take baby in. I really enjoy this app.

  • Cat not being taken care of timely

I have 2 cats on wellness plans. I have been trying to have one of them treated for weeks. She was seen, had shots, dental etc but her sneezing, runny nose and wheezing was dismissed as nothing. I have had 3 vet chats and a talk with office since about the same symptoms and could not get an appointment for over a week. I was told I would be called back one day for a virtual call and nobody called back. I had another vet chat and was told I should take her to a vet walk-in that I would have to pay for. I finally scheduled an appointment today online and she cannot be seen until 8/8/23. I pay over $100 per month for 2 cats and can’t seem to have one sick cat taken care of in a timely manner. It’s not working out for us.

  • Most amazing vets I’ve ever been too!

I love banfield hospital and vet in Concord. NH! All the veterinarians are so friendly and nice and explain everything to the full extent! They are caring and loving with your pet, who to me my little Sadie is my 4th child! ❤️She broke her leg from my fiancés doberman pincher jumping in her as he ran out of the house and he’s 114lbs! OUCH! I cried a lot with her every time she cried in pain, I can’t help it, I love her so much! She went for X-rays and now has a soft cast on and the whole staff is amazing there!! From the time your greeted till the time you get your baby back! I have had pets through the years, but this is the best and most amazing vet I have ever been to! If you haven’t been here yet, I suggest you try it! You won’t be disappointed. I wish I could post a pic of the awesome purple cast they did with a big green heart 💚

  • Filled with bugs

The app does have quite a few nice features but there are a few bugs that make it unusable.

The biggest bug being the crashing that happens whenever I try to edit an appointment. I have tried restarting my phone, uninstalling and reinstalling, and clearing app data and it instantly crashes every time I click on either “view/edit” for the appointment or even the drop-down to view more details for the appointment. Very inconvenient.

I also think this app would benefit from being better able to multitask. If you leave the app and come back, it takes forever to load and has just the logo for quite a while, even on my 14 Pro Max phone.

  • Do not get the wellness plan!

Do not get the wellness plan! Just don’t, it’s expensive and they don’t want to help you. Also, the hospital we used in Smyrna tn treated us like trash and act like they hate their job. The rooms are nasty. You can take your dog to local shelter and get the vaccinations for free, the chipping for close to nothing, and neutered/spaded for free.
I took my dogs to this hospital and the cashier stood their like she didn’t just see me come out of the office with my puppy who just got neutered. She took 3 new customers before checking me out while my dog stood there freaking out and coming down from the meds. When I said something she acted like a ditz and said “oh sorry I didn’t see you”. The nurse gave her my dogs meds and pointed right at me when I came out! WTH stupid. If you don’t like your job then get another!

  • EMERGENCY

For the most part the insurance has been working out well

April 21 The older of my two dogs Jack was hit by a car at 5:45 PM I called Banfield it was 5:57 PM when I called the banfield Northpoint Durham they were supposed to close at 6 PM I keep getting a recording saying that they were busy with other clients and a call back later then I got they're closed message

I called the number that they give you for emergencies on the Banfield location and they said that they did not have any emergency appointments I explained that I would not get my disability check till next week they said they could give you referrals but I'd have to money upfront

where am I to get this money? it is not that I don't love my dog but I'm on disability of a cats a survivor I have developmental physical disabilities I was able to connect with the virtual vet the problem was that they asked for pictures and I had to take five or 10 minutes to take the pictures and then I couldn't get back to the vet

Jack has what appears to be minor injuries but as the evening has progressed I am becoming more concernedBanfield opens to Northpoint at 8 AM I'm going to be there when they open I don't have an appointment but they should've answered the phone and then we had still had three minutes to work it really concerns me that there is not something in place for those with wellness plans in an emergency

  • Lousy app and slow service

    Issues with app.
It will often times not load at all.
When it does load it often has problems logging in.
When it does log you in, and you go to your pets records, it will again(often) not load their records.
When trying to schedule a visit it will not let you select an in person visit, drop off only, which is already annoying, but that brings me to the service side of things.
Scheduled my cat for a morning appointment arrived a few minutes early/on time. Took cat and me back to one of their rooms just to verify what I had already told both the app and the receptionist ( He was just there for vaccinations. Healthy. Etc.) Then told me that he would be ready for pickup between noon and 1:00pm, and that they’d call me. No call by 1:00, so I call them and he’s not been seen by the vet. Apparently the vet’s gone to lunch. Asked when my cat would be ready and was now told after 3:00 pm, probably.
Why does it take seven hours to give a cat two shots? Why did the app allow me to schedule a morning visit, if they can’t see him until the afternoon?
.My cat’s sitting in a cage in the back of their office for hours and hours longer than he needed to. That’s stressful for a cat.
I’m not impressed and not happy.

  • Horrible App Login

This review isn’t about Banfield Pet Hospital or their service, but their app. Every time I try to login, I have to reset my password because for some reason, my passwords aren’t “saved” in their system. First, every time I try to log in with my current password, it would say “wrong password”. Second, the fingerprint or facial recognition for login doesn’t work even though after every time I create a new password, it would ask me if I’d like to use this feature. And yes, I register this feature every single time. But after a week or so, the new password either won’t log me in or the fingerprint/facial recognition feature doesn’t work. When I try resetting my password, it says my email address is not registered any accounts. However, when I search my email address through the Client ID portal, it says my email address is already registered with an account. WHAT IS THIS? Seriously? I’ve never seen such a contradictory flaw in an app. Especially when my pet is sick. I’m paying close to $500 a year for the OWP that offers free online consultations. To seek help from a veterinarian about my pet’s symptoms. Yet, I have to go through so many obstacles to do so. My pet isn’t feeling well right now and I can’t do anything about it. Literally nothing because of this fatal flaw. I’m hugely disappointed. This app needs serious reprogramming. It’s putting a lot of stress of us and putting my pet’s life at risk.
