What's New in stoic. journal & mental health

2026.15

July 29, 2026

dear stoics, a lighter update this time, with a few things worth knowing: - stoic ai got a bit more personal - prompts and reflections should feel more like they're written for you. - ai token limits now renew weekly instead of monthly, so if you ever hit the cap, you're never more than a few days from a fresh start. - on the fixing side: badges no longer unlock from empty check-in drafts, and we closed a gap where the app lock could be skipped right after a single unlock. - keep an eye on your profile - some of you will find a special lifetime offer waiting there. thanks, as always, for flagging what doesn't work as it should. stay tuned! happy journaling! m.

Depression test

So I took the "5 whys" thing after the questionable "we are so glad to see you today" pop up.

First input: "I want to overcome clinical depression"
It really just gave me back: "why?"

Well you got the loop from then on...

This is not a stoic app. This is a 12 year teenager that just discovered a cognitive loophole exclusively allowed to drive parents crazy...

If someone write something more serious at least: 1) point out to proper support; or 2) immediately stop the activity and be transparent that on this apps or task limitations.

Yet a sixth Why you'll get depressed people jumping over windows. But on a seventh Why rest assure I'll come back and get this "stoic" before taking both of us on a final flight

Nice app

Peaceful

GREAT APP

This is such a great app to use and then the free version is optimal and not that limited!

Love

This app is so awakening, so refreshing and cultivating self respect and acknowledgment in your daily life to have not one but two reminders of how your day went and could go highly recommend and I’m definitely suggesting paying for the full version

Free version is annoying by design

I can’t remember the free version, so only use if you’re ok with the subscription. Free version doesn’t even offer a cloud sync option, and it’s riddled with features that requires the subscription, effectively having guard railed advertising which is annoying. I could understand limiting features for a premium version, but the ads for the app in the app are too annoying.
